Pakistan Tour of Australia 2009/10

I'm raging. I wrote up a one page article for my blog on a temporary account/profile and saved it, and it's gone. Any idea on if I can get it back?

And yes, it's cricket related :\

Call this guy.

Doc Brown!

Harris might struggle a bit in Adelaide, generally the swing bowlers do.

I reckon Cameron White might might have a case for a move to #4 after the way the middle order stalled in Sydney.

So Harris is next in line, well keep Siddle then as there isn't too much improvement there. Wouldn't mind seeing how Hastings goes with his pace at this level or if they want to take a punt James Pattinson could have been worth a go.

:doh

I don't get how they can call Burt Cockley up for India, and then simply discard him like that. Give a youngster a go FFS! Try to build some confidence! Look what happened to Beau Casson!

Ah yes, Beau Casson. Couldn't handle a little droppage. :laugh If your mentality can't handle being dropped, you won't be much of a spinner IMHO. A couple of 6s and he'll be bowling pies with that mindset.

He got injured though didn't he? Otherwise there was no other reason for McGain to go to India as he could have just as easily been picked for the West Indies instead of Casson in the first place. Anyway, I'm not missing Casson much.

Why has Harris came into the squad? What about new blood? :(

I think because it would be worthless. Johnson comes back next match, Siddle comes back next match, Hilfenhaus will be back soon, Lee will be back in a few months and is more likely focusing on ODIs than Tests. Bracken is on the way back. So the young guy you pick will get 1 game maybe and then he won't be in the top 10 bowlers for the next year.

The other factor is stability. You don't just start handing caps to any young guy who flashes something. That's what Pakistan do and all their players are looking over their shoulders constantly. Australia likes breeding confidence by stability.

And as Robelinda said, Harris has been bowling well. If there was a young guy doing really well and knocking down the door I'd agree with you, but there's isn't and the posters here can't make up their minds who they want either :p. There's been plenty of young guys names been nominated already: Starc, Hazlewood, Pattinson, Rimmington, Faulkner, Hastings. You don't just randomly pick a young guy and say LOOK we've picked a young guy, what forward thinking and smart selectors we are... You pick good players and I don't think any of those guys are good players yet. They might be good in a couple of years and that's when they should be picked.

And as Robelinda said, Harris has been bowling well.

Don't know about that last season he took 10 wickets at 36.5 with best figures of 2-28. There were quite a few bowlers that bowled better than him last season including Tait, Laughlin and Geeves.

Last season has nothing to do with it, he has bowled really well in pressure games THIS season and fully deserves a call up. He's not too old, like Nannes, I think he's a quality bowler. He's ripped through top orders many times this season.

THIS season? Hes played 2 games, one FRC and one Shield, how on earth can you say he bowled really well in pressure games THIS season based on 2 games? And FTR his Shield game he took 2-129 average of 64.5 for the season and 1-38 in FRC at 38. Yep great form that, ripping teams apart.
