Pakistan Tour of Australia 2009/10

The match is too late here.. its starts at 11:30 pm.
But Pakistan are not looking good

and here in Pakistan it is near to 4 a.m in the morning:D
Pitch looks perfect for a draw unless some thing big happen on either ends.

send2yaari added 1 Minutes and 24 Seconds later...

True, I know that the pitch isn't very conducive for swing bowling but my point was that assistance for swing or not, his action, positioning and angle don't allow for swing into the right hander at the moment.

Yeah,he is bit opening up his chest and with that he will extract some moent in the air which will really help him in the future.

Asim Kamal is good but his recent form is not up to the mark and with Iqbal having some experience was preferred over all big guns in the domestic circuit.

Well it's not going to happen in Australia even if he does get everything right. Only the very best exponents of swing can get the new ball moving in Australia. Hilfenhaus had it shaping a bit in Brisbane, as did Roach but everyone else has been totally straight. Last summer Steyn never got much movement with the new ball either. It's only when the ball gets old that it swings reverse.

It's gotta be something with the Kookaburra or the conditions because swing bowling is kinda useless here. The best bowlers are those that get seam movement and bounce eg. Glenn McGrath who barely swung a ball in his life. Same for guys like Mitch Johnson, it hardly matters if he can't swing in Australia because no one else can either, it's his nip off the wicket, pace and the batsman's eyes lighting up that get his wickets.

why if you had a good, in form, legspinner (traditionally very good on australian pitches) would you drop him and pick a an offspinner (traditionally rubbish on australian pitches)???????
didn't Kaneria take 7 wickets in the last match?
idiots

It was concerns over his finger. And given how much they'll need to bowl their spinner, I'd be concerned too. If he's gonna be bowling 30+ overs a day, I think he needs to be very confident of his fitness.

Admittedly, I haven't seen Kaneria for a while, but I thought Ajmal was quite capable. He's bowling on a 1st day Australian pitch, where there's never much joy to be had. He's a very good defensive option. He tied down Watson and Katich well, while having Watson dropped. And he was overbowled too. I had concerns about the stamina of the Pakistan attack if they had to bowl for too long with no real 5th option, and it's going to haunt them, especially if one of the quicks is off his game - like Rauf late yesterday.

If Pakistan can pick up Hussey and Clarke before lunch, we might have a game on our hands. Hussey was looking ridiculously comfortable at the crease last night. Anything full he was dispatching, need to test him out with the short stuff from Aamir

that's fair enough then I guess. I never realised he was injured. I thought the talk was they were going to play both ajmal and kaneria, so when I saw ajmal on I thought he must have been preferred.

was there not one of the windies game australia piled on a massive total with the top order then crumbled though? might still have a game.

need to get hauritz out early, that could really work in pakistans favour with the tail becoming significantly easier to get through without him.

^Indeed. In the last Test Australia's middle order collapsed in a heap, but everyone was too outraged over Shane Watson/Chris Gayle and Suliemann Benn/Brad Haddin to even notice. It's becoming a big problem for Australia considering it also happened a couple of times during the Ashes, ruining some good positions.

I hope Hussey gets a big score, he has been unfairly treated in he media, like he's the first batsmen to have a poor couple of series in a row. Every year one player in the team has a lean trot, and the press and public go way over the top. Over the past 20 years every good batsmen has gone through one. The guy averages 53 after 40 odd tests, that is excellent. All round player too- spin, swing, seam, pace- he can play it very well. People seem to judge him on his worst form, I dont see the rationale behind that, every batsmen at his worst is usually pretty average. Is Sachin terrible at playing leg spin because McIntyre spun him out in 1996? Of course not.

4 years ago on the 2nd day of the Boxing day test I witnessed one of the finest tons all decade, by Mr Hussey, 100 run partnership with McGrath, he hammered South Africa, some massive sixes too.

No ton in this innings, Pak to bowl us out for around 400. Or maybe Haddin will go nuts, gee I love his attacking style.

100/7? I doubt Australia will fold that easily. 450-500, I say.
