Surprise surprise, another failure for the Pakistani openers. Farhat was never going to do much though. Butt seems to like it in Australia though. I reckon he could ton up.

Seriously, that is one great declaration by Punter, when was the last time any 1st inngs dec came 1 hour before tea on day 2, with the score under 500? I can only think of 02/03 at the MCG when Aus declared at 550 with plenty of time before stumps left. Shows that Punter's captaincy is evolving, and getting more attacking. It wouldve been so easy to get 600 and toil in the field for a probable draw, and knowing the next test is so close its good to not have to bowl in what may have turned out to be 3 innings in a row.

At this rate, Pakistan should be able to bring up 500 late on day 5, then bowl Australia out cheaply when they're worn out from spending so long in the field.
