Even if Katich fails another fitness test he still gets his spot whenever he comes back. He has been batting great for the past 2 years or so and there is no reason to drop him.

Surely if he scores tomorrow he gets a spot in the ODI side?

Probably would unless they go with Haddin opening with Watson.

No they cant but Paine opened with Watson in Champs Trophy and did well and then he got hurt and Marsh was put in as the opener so its not like he has the position locked.

Well it is a big if at this moment so I would go with Katich. If Aussies win then sure why not give Katich time to rest and play Hughes.

Whats to remember about him? Average FC record, great one day and 20/20 record. Not really close to a test spot. Been in good form this summer though.

Yea Marsh was injured at that time. It is between him and Hughes unless they go with Haddin like I said. Haddin did well as a opener.
