Pakistan Tour of Australia 2009/10

^Lol. Pakistan are not used to being in such a commanding position against the Aussies. They have been very average against them TBH. Yousaf needs to calm down the boys and make sure our bowlers and fielders do not crumble under pressure and believe you me, Pakistanis will be under a lot of pressure as they are expected to win against Aussies. This is unchartered territory for almost every one including Yousaf.

Pak in total control, Aus in pressure after quite some time...They will have to post at least 500 runs on score board...

Aussies post 400 and it will be interesting because chasing 200 odd for Pakistan in 2nd innings might be tricky , not because of pitch but their own pressurized brain

Definitely agree on the pitch colouring up, it could yet have a few surprises in it. I also suspect that if Australia bat out a day an a half, it could pave the way for a draw in the face of more poor weather on Thursday.

it would be very difficult for Aussie to score here as ball is impressively turning and they are very average against such spin.
Pakistan has a good lead but still the thing is that almost all the batsman play very well in the settling time and when they were settle they start to loose their wickets.

I am not trusting North or Clarke to save us in this test, since they hardly performs when the pressure is on.

Their main weapon is only Hussey he is the best in Australian side when it comes to spin playing.

Johnson and Clarke can play spin well too tbh.

In fact Clarke is better player of the spin than Hussey

Nah I disagree,Clarke most of the time try to hit the bowl which is placed in good length are due to which he leave a gap between bat and pad and provide more chances of stump, bowled or CBW.

North? Yes. Clarke? No way, he's been the most consistent batsman Australia's had in the last year or 2 - with Simon Katich.

Depends what you want. Hussey is a prodder, Clarke uses his feet. Clarke is much better at breaking up a spinner's length, but can be prone to getting out with an attacking shot. Hussey won't score as quickly, but is prone to bat/pad catches or nicks to slip. Clarke almost never gets those - he's more stumped, bowled or caught in the field somewhere as you mention.

Hussey needs to be in pretty good form before I'd pick him to face a spinner over Clarke.

Pakistan "should" win this.

But then again, nothing expected happens in Pakistan cricket :(

But the things is with the Aussies, they are never down and out of it until the last wicket has fallen and they will always back themselves. Just their attitude puts pressure on the opposition. It gets them into trouble sometimes, as the decision to bat first has proven, but as a Pommie I still wish we had a bit more of the Aussie grit (*puts on asbestos suit*).:)

Clarke has only been stumped only 4 times out of 92 innings, so you can't say hes prone to getting stumped. His problem like always is throwing his wicket away with one of the lofted shot he plays.

And as Jason pointed out, Clarke is pretty good under pressure. He might not play the match saving knocks that Ponting has played but hes got a number of 50s when the team needed runs. Obviously it would be great if he converted them into 100s but given how frequent our collapses are occurring, the 50s would more than help. The problem lies with Hussey and North, when the top order has failed and we get bowled out cheaply 95% of the time (probably higher) you will find both of them not contributing.

I would trust them. More like they fail when the RR needs a boost.

BTW Hussey is best against spin when he's in ODI mode. I hate his bat-pad blocks.
