Strange what happened to the extra 30 minutes at the end of the day? We played to almost 7pm last night.
You can only attempt to make up time on a day where you've actually lost time eg. yesterday when it rained. On a day where there is no interruption, the most you can do to catch up is start 30 minutes early and have a 98 over day.
I'd guess it's because they don't want teams out in the field for longer than 6.5-7 hours a day. But you never know with the ICC regulations, crazy administrators...
When I turned the TV on, Pakistan were 267/4 and it was looking like Australia would have had no chance to make a comeback in this game but the Pakistani batsmen will always give opportunities by playing some agricultural shots.
Australia will be happy they reigned in the lower order especially the Akmal brothers. But having said that it was a bit of a gamble by Pakistan to play aggressively. They have Australia on the rack and if they'd managed 400 I think the game's all but over, so a bit of application would have been nice. They seemed like they were going for the knockout punch.
Then again, it's always an advantage to have Australia thinking they can get back in the match, because they'll play more aggressively in response and we saw what can happen with that approach in the first innings...Ponting

Well the Pitch looks to have flattened out a lot today, pitch is almost white and drying thanks to the sun. Australia could still make 400-500 in their 2nd innings :laugh
Should be possible. Today's pitch looked like a typical 1st day pitch to me and if you continue that idea, then tomorrow's will be a 2nd/early 3rd day wicket, traditionally excellent for batting. Combine that with the hurt pride of the Australian order and they are primed for a big total. But I believe if Pakistan bowl well again they can certainly limit that. I can't see Australia making under 300 though, which will at least keep the game alive.
