Well I don't think it's so much an argument of who the best captain is, but how much difference can a captain really make? To say that a Misbah lead Pakistan would have had SL all out by now seems silly to me. Maybe if you have some specific examples of what Misbah might have done better?
I thought they could have bowled pace a bit more to mix up the speeds and keep changing the batsman's mindset and footwork. They were probably hoping for a bit more reverse swing than was found. Also attack the stumps a bit more with the spin, I didn't watch all of it, but Rehman seemed to be happy with an off stump line with a stacked off side field for the RHB. Why not try pitching it on leg with a balanced field and get the RHB working against the spin? Reverse that for Ajmal vs Sangakkara and the same applies.
