thanks for the support man...its hard to guage whether or not ppl are reading...but ill keep going if you guys support me!

Pakistan Cut To Ribbons

Nasser: The players have taken drinks and Pakistan will be savouring the breather as England have definitely taken control of this test. They've moved into a strong position at 156/3. How do you think its going Ian?

Ian: Well Nas, Pakistan are certainly in trouble and need a wicket quick if they want to stay in this match. Paul Collingwood broke the chains and started to take the attack to the tourists as well. Lets look at some of the shots that the England players took as well as the scorecards.

Match State: 1st Test 1st Day
England 156/3 45 Overs
Collingwood* 30 (95)
Strauss 65 (140)

Pakistan
Afridi* 7 - 2 - 16 - 0
Malik 3 - 2 - 6 - 0

Collingwood Gone

Nasser: Inzamam-ul-Haq chose to give the ball back to Mohd. Asif and it payed of beautifully as Paul Collingwood really had no answer to Asif's prodigous swing. Collingwood and Strauss had called up a a great 100-run partnership with a lovely straight drive for four but their partnership was soon broken. The 4th wicket was worth 101 runs for England. Pakistan will be pleased with this break through , and will look to expose England's long tail as soon as possible.

Ian: Collingwood, although batted well, looked likely to get out the way he did. He missed many balls outside the offstump from Adnan and it was only time until one ball swung in a lot and caught Collingwood completely off-guard. An attempted defensive shot was no use as Asif got through and rattled the stumps. Asif has been the pick of the bowlers picking up 3 key wickets for his side, although Shoaib Malik has definitely stifled the batsman without getting a wicket as of yet. Lets see how next man Ian Bell fairs.

Match State: 1st Test 1st Day
England 175/4 51.5 Overs
Bell* 0 (0)
Strauss 73 (159)

Pakistan
Asif 9.5 - 1 - 40 - 3
Malik 6 - 3 - 15 - 0

Strauss Nears Century

Nasser: At tea, Andrew Strauss is on 99 not out and needs just one more run to complete a remarkable century. Not only has it come from a wide variety of shots and been paced in a great way, but it is also very timely for England as no one else has really been able to convert their good starts into a great innings. Pakistan are bowling much better and their confidence was boosted with Paul Collingwood's wicket. Pakistan need to make up for some sloppy fielding as they gifted away many chances. We will be back in 20 minutes time with Andrew Strauss on strike...shooting for a superb test hundred.

Match State: 1st Day - Tea Break
England 207/4 60 Overs
Strauss* 99 (183)
Bell 4 (27)

Pakistan
Malik* 10 - 4 - 41 - 0
Rana 11 - 4 - 42 - 0
Extras 26

Strauss gonna get a century but he might be stopped by....you or Asif and maybe you should give the skipper the ball :)

Let's hope it doesn't come to that Mick. We all know that Strauss is going to notch up a century and that there is nothing to stop the guy. He's simply unbeatable.
Unless England are playing against Australia of coarse. :p

Strauss Reaches Landmark!

Nasser: Andrew Strauss reaches a superb century in stunning fashion with a great straight drive for 4 right past the bowler. He called up his ton with the first ball after tea delivered by Shoaib Malik. South Africa born Strauss needed 184 balls to reach 103*. His side definitely needed his contribution, especially the 100-run stand with Paul Collingwood. Lets get back to the action to see how play unfolds.

Match State - Day 1 Session 3
England
211/4 60.1 Overs
Strauss* 103 (184)
Bell 4 (27)

Pakistan
Malik* 10.1 - 4 - 45 - 0
Rana 11 - 4 - 42 - 0
