Pakistan vs England Jul-Aug-Sep 2010

He should have had a wicket, but thanks to a shocking umpire he didn't. If that wicket went his way, we'd be speaking differently.

Looks like he'll have a role to play with the bat.

Yeah, this is a good situation for him to come in and prove his worth.

Bresnan really has improved his bowling this summer but still not the guy you want taking the new ball

Some funny moments here.

Kamran Akmal is replaced as wicketkeeper by Umar Akmal.

Wright just hit a four. In the stands it was seen a four signal was given by Darth Vader. :laugh There was also a Storm Trooper next to him.

Yeah. He picked up his best figures of the season thanks largely to the fairly freakish dismissal of Kamran Akmal. Sure, he later picked up a couple of wickets with the bouncer, but the issue is that he's used as a new ball bowler and he brings nothing to the side in that role.

This is pretty bad umpiring from Doctrove. Why didn't he refer that stumping of Wright to the third umpire? Replays showed there is enough reason to do that.

Unlucky Pakistan should have Wright out but then again Wright had a plumb LBW not given when he was bowling so its balanced out.

Not moving his feet

Mark added 1 Minutes and 1 Seconds later...

Should still have this with Broad and Swann. This is a fantastic opportunity for Wright to win a game for England and score some points with the selectors.

Whatever the outcome of the match is:

it's pretty annoying that Doctrove didn't go to the third umpire on Wright's dismissal, but he did (maybe the English fielders even ask for this) go to the third umpire when Afridi was run out.

And Wright had a plumb lbw turned down when he was bowling. Get over it.

It's a bit different. On the occasions I mentioned the umpire can refer. Not on the LBW.

This is strange. The field is spread when a new batsman is in. It's England's game to lose now.
