Pakistan vs England Jul-Aug-Sep 2010

I can't believe they've levelled the series after our start! There's only one person to blame for this: Michael Atherton. He said that it would be good for the series if Pakistan won the other day - well, they did and now they've won this as well. Well done, Athers. :p

Happy for Pakistan. To be playing under the pressure they are now and put up performances like this it must be a great feeling.

197-5 to 227 all out.

Really weird that this is consistently happening given that England have one of the stronger tails today.

Very happy with such a performance. Great death bowling with a deadly combination of spin bowling but still there is lots of concern with opening bowling. It's really hard to miss your two key bowlers and still producing a very comfortable win in this match.
Razzaq certainly shown his importance which we felt was absent in first two matches.
Keep up the good work Pakistan.:)

In all seriousness, we've been dire. Not surprising. Good tactic from Ijaz Butt, accuse the opposition players of being as bent as his own and they'll inevitably be crap.

It will take a lot of work to re-build the PCB/ECB relationship. Certainly no repeats of our kind attempts at hosting their home games here due to their own incompetence at home.

I'm obviously not part of the ECB, but I dunno, sacking that sickening creep Ijaz Butt would probably be enough for me.

Hope ECB somehow able to sack Mr.Butt which is in prime interest of Pakistan cricket.

Nope, the way cricket is structured the only people who can make changes to a cricket board is that specific board. Even the ICC can not interfere unless they are personally requested to do so by the PCB.

Razzaq was grand on his own, but combined with Afridi, there was 81 from 42 balls for 1 wicket. Boned. Surprisingly, both teams were 5/182 after 40 overs, but the position looked much worse for England.

England need to get a handle on some reverse swing. In both these games, it has given the Pakistani bowlers some thunderbolts, but not the English. They've got the bowlers with the pace and seam position, but I suspect they need to work on the ball a little differently. Whether intentional or not, these wickets give England a preview to playing on wickets of the variety that might pop up during the World Cup. If they do nothing about it and find the same issues arise, they will have no excuses.

There is. Get James Harris in now

James Harris had quite a poor List A and T20 season. He's a little on the expensive side. His FC performances are much better but he didn't get many five fors which he should be doing in division 2. He should try moving to a division 1 side if he really wants to force his way through as Glamorgan just missed out on promotion once again. I think England should start grooming David Payne. He looks a very good bowler and has already made a very impressive start to his limited overs career.

Bresnan is not at all a bad player. He bowled pretty well in the series but it was Gul's fantastic reverse swing yorkers that made him look so poor with bat.
On the other hand James Harris to me look okish and I still prefer to have Bresnan in my side with his good bowling abilities.

just great bowling by Pakistan at the death.

With the ability of Gul and Ahktar swinging the reverse ball and even more under lights with the dew factor, there is no way England should be chasing a score.

Nah Bresnan is just way too average. He'll get carted by any half decent batsman. He doesn't have anything at all, he's not got some great delivery and he can't get great pace or swing.

I'd like to see Ajmal Shahzad get a go in the side. What happened to him? Is he still injured? He looks genuinely threatening to bowlers and has some aura about him.

Great win of Pakistan, but still Pakistan isn't at his best.

Especially the middle order is pretty fragile. Surprisingly the top order has done better then the middle order. Normally the Pakistani middle order has to step in, because of the fall of the early wickets.

Hafeez is really slow in scoring runs, but I rather see an opener scoring a bit slow then losing a wicket.

One of the reasons why Pakistan has won the recent ODI's is basically the late order (Afridi, Razzaq and the tail) has been making runs. It really makes a differences if you've got two players at the end, who can make full use of the 'free hitting overs'.

Nevertheless I expect England to come back hard.
