It's not just the British.;)

And all of them can't play in Chennai.

I feel the IPL organisers should let other franchises (barring CSK) chose an extra foreigner (non-Sri Lankan) for their side in games played in Chennai. They can do this to satisfy other franchises. Moving games out of Chennai is just not on (the public is all keyed up for the event, and they will lose lot of money if its moved out now).

Yup,Teams must be allowed to pick up 5 foreign players and Pune must be allowed 6 foreign players for the matches in Chepauk i feel.Because reducing the foreign count in chennai to 2 is not going to help.We are a very strong batting unit even without foreigners. So the opposition must be benifitted.Srinivasan is not really doing a justice.Actually i still dont understand the concept of Sun Risers.Karunanidhi(opposition party in Tamil Nadu) pulled out of the UPA Government because he was rest assured that their tenure wont continue and said he is doing that because of the Sri Lankan issue. But Kumar Sangakaraa is made the captain of Sun Risers, the team which officially belongs to DMK.Infact this Srinivasan(also a Binami of DMK) is making me to dislike my hometown. But just that i cant leave my hometown for being insulted!A pathetic state of a Chennaite! :(

The best solution I feel is that whenever there is a home match for CSK, CSK shouldn't be allowed to field the same number of overseas players that the Sri Lankan players the opposition can't field.

For example, PWI has just 1 Sri Lankan player - Angelo Mathews. So in the game between PWI & CSK at Chennai, CSK should be allowed to field maximum of (4-1) 3 overseas players.

This seems to be the most logical solution to me. Rather than increasing the number of foreign players in the opposition (which means reducing the number of Indian players), increase the number of mandatory Indian players in CSK. After all it's the Indian Premier League.

But I'm sure that even if such a proposal goes/has gone to Srinivasan, he wouldn't agree to it. :facepalm

Good to see de Kock in the IPL! He scored 126* in the Ram Slam t20 couple of weeks ago!

For once,i like your solution which is correct and which does not affect the sentiments and feelings of any fan.

Might not work. Delhi have two Sri Lankans, Jayawardena and Mendis. Asking CSK to not play 2 overseas players against Delhi would tilt the scales back again in Delhi's favor.

Probably they should identify 3-4 key players in CSK, and one player out of these 3-4 should not play in the home games of CSK. And they can be rotated amongst themselves. For e.g., Dhoni, Ashwin, Vijay and Raina are the key/high impact players for Chennai. Have one of them sit out for each home game that Chennai plays. For e.g., Ashwin can sit out in one game, Vijay in another, and so on.
