Pro Evolution Soccer 2009

I'm currently playing on Professional, not good enough to be playing on Top Player yet, still struggling to score goals atm. It certainly seems to be playing alot better now that I've changed the camera angle, I think it's a game that will grow on me, in a similar way to Pes 2008, which frankly I hated when i first played it, but then went back to it and enjoyed it. I'll keep plugging away and hope it clicks and I start to really enjoy it.

I only played 2 games on the demo at my mates house, maybe I didn't give it long enough...

Yeah you need a good 15-20 games to really get to grips with it to be fair, I though it was very stagnated on my first few games, but once you adjust to the pace its all fun from there.

I've played the demo loads it feels like playing the PS2 versions which is not what I'm looking for. Anyway I'm going around my mates on monday he has the full game so I'll see how that is.

I have heard that the game is better optimised than 08 though, which was just about playable on medium graphic settings for me.

What were your specs again? Quite honestly, you can max out this game with a single core 2.66ghz processor, a decent 256mb card and 1.5GB of RAM. I seem to remember you meet that, so high should be no problem.

The full game felt different from the demo, not sure why but it did.

My specs are:

Windows Vista Home Premium
1022mb RAM (pretty crap)
Nvidia GeForce 7500LE (again, not good)
Intel Pentium D CPU 2.80GHz (2 CPUs) - this is what dxdiag said

Hopefully that's enough to make it look fairly good while being playable.

You might be able to push full settings to be honest, its far better optimized than last year.

I'll give it a fair crack then.

If I do end up getting the full version, I would get the PC version I think. The patches/mods would make it look better than on the consoles. My only worry is that the stadiums would look PS1 like while the players/other graphics would look quite good, meaning that the stadiums would just stick out as looking bad, as well as my computer being fairly poor.

Has anyone else seen that thing a few guys are working on on Evo-Web?
Here's the thread:

It's basically something which would let you add unlimited stadiums/leagues/teams/sounds and more, there's more info throughout the thread about it.

Sounds like Creation Master for Fifa 09 (PC only, I think).

Wow, just got mine and I've been having a hell lot fun in it. :)

Konami did more than my expectations. Well done people! :)

Some irritating bugs, like commentary hanging and looping, but well okay, they are in all games.

The fantastic thing was the ease with which my gamepad works with this game, really awesome.

Graphics are cool, but they show their real strength in replays and closeups. The graphics aren't that great while playing from the default camera, although they do get awesome the moment you go closer to the ball. I dunno how Konami messed this up but the grass appears 2d when you're taking a goal kick.

Commentary honestly sucks though. :( Crowd sounds aren't good either though I'm looking for patches on that.

Gameplay, well its really good, I haven't played too many games but currently playing on amateur till I get the proper feel and step it up. I'll try Be a Legend now. :)

Great game, PC version too! :)

That's a great review. How would you rate PES 2009 in comparison with Fifa 09 ?

The only good thing that you mentioned is the Graphics, which would be dependent on a good graphics card-something that I don't have. If the gameplay is not good, I'd rather stick to Fifa.
