Pro Evolution Soccer 5

Anyone tried the PES 5 demo? I've only played a few games with it and first impressions are that it's fairly similar to PES 4 (which is no bad thing) with a few new touches. No doubt the more you play it the more things you notice, as with all Pro Evo games.

Dude it's totally different from PES 4, and scarily realistic too, I was shaking! The demo - woooooooow!! So, so much better than Fifa, and better graphics too! So stick that in your pipe and smoke it.

Wtf? Dude  , when I first posted on the PES 5 demo I'd played it twice, and there are similarities to PES 4 on first play (which I said is no bad thing). Now, the more I've played it, I've come to notice the differences in gameplay, and I agree, it is an improvement on PES 4 . And for the record, I haven't played any full FIFA games since FIFA 2002 coz the demos have all been so shite.

I have rented Pro Evolution Soccer 5 for PlayStation 2 today and played it for the very first time. Being a FIFA Football series fan, you can imagine how different this looked and sounded.

The gameplay is very good. Players make intelligent runs which enables you to play attacking through-balls, defenders sprint back to try and stop the oncoming striker and things like that.

The graphics are average to me. The stadiums are not big enough and the player models are all the same. The pitches are dreadful, but weather conditions and physics are realistic. The physics are the best thing.

The sound is average too. Peter Brackley and Trevor Brooking both make valuable and intelligent comments, but the style in which they are delivered is not the best. The crowd sounds are brilliant, but still does not reflect an actual football match.

Overall, the gameplay wins. Excellent gameplay twinned with solid graphics and sound makes a decent football video game and earns a rating of seven out of ten from me. There is still something about the Pro Evolution Soccer series that makes it feel foreign and I can't figure out what it is. A good game, but I will certainly buy FIFA Football 07 before I take a look at Pro Evolution Soccer 6.

How can you say its foreign if you don't know what makes it foreign.......:p

The overall feel is just foreign and not my ideal football experience.

does anyone know if it is possible to transport the patches for Pro Evo 5 to the PSP?
thanks in advance

I'v got a dilema( exuse my spelling), I can only buy 1 of the 2 Fifa 2006 or pro evo soccer 5, which one would you have and why?.

Fifa 2005 was poor but Fifa 06 has improved alot and PES 4 was good but im not sure on PES 5, I Prefer Fifa 06

depends what you want...

Realistic football (and thats all) - PES5

Manager/atmosphere/licensing and a pretty good gameplay - FIFA

Personaly i like FIFA better, but PES's gameplay is always great to play.

Yep matey my tag is Puddleduck... I warn you though after my first 200 games my win ratio is in and around 65-70% ;)

That said I haven't played for a few months :)

Very much agreed Lee. The menu's look dated, the commentary is absolute rubbish - Peter Brackely? Trevor Brooking? LOL!

Theres somthing about it which makes it feel foreign, maybe it's soccer, I don't know. After hearing my mates rave about the graphics of PES 5 I thought they would be somthing special, but, there not. In terms of smoothness I think Fifa's are far better.

Thats my two cents
