South Africa in England

I think it might have something to do with the pace Broad bowls at in ODI's. Hes quite a bit quicker than he is in the Tests.

Kallis goes now.
He looks out of sorts these days. The Saffers have been jolted !

Actually, I think I've worked it out. In Test Matches he tends to bowl the same line and length which is generally back of a length and wide of off-stump. In tests he can be left comfortably, but in ODi's batsmen feel they have to play at him, and hence he gets wickets.

Kallis gone as well, England on top here. South Africa going for top of the Rankings, heh, good luck :p

Stuart Broad you legend. 4 wickets for him now. Jimmy could have had De Villiers in the last over as well, Duminy gone =D

Well, theyre really in trouble now Broad is looking brilliant compared to the test matches

One thing that I have noticed with the South African batting over the past year, though they are a very good side is that their batting is a bit thin when it comes to facing quality seam bowling.
Even in the home ODI series against India in 2007 which they won 4-0,they struggled against the Indian pace attack of Zaheer,Sreesanth and co and it was only due to the Indian batting and the habit of not being able to finish them off that they won the series.
Then again in Ireland after the World Cup,they were struggling to put bat to ball against Zaheer,RP and Agarkar.
And now in this series,I again get a feeling that they are a bit thin with their batting.
I feel they need some solidity back in the middle order, maybe bringing Prince in would help.
The problem seems to have been aggravated by Kallis`s lack of form and Boucher not seeming to be the force that he was in the past.

As I type, the fourth wicket falls. They are in absolute shambles!

Hmmm, i'm gonna keep my feet on the ground and say there's still 40 overs left and if we can bowl like this then so can they. But come on England.

I'm not sure they can. Steyn's a poor ODi bowler, Ntini's getting too old, Nel's lost some nip, Kallis doesn't have the pace of Broad or Anderson, and Morkel's not fit. Our bowling attack is far, far stronger at the moment. It's not like the batsmen can just see off Broad either, as they'll have Harmison running in and bowling upwards of 90mph at them after that. Also, if Broad is getting some good bounce, imagine the bounce and pace Harmison will get.

One thing regarding South African selection, I think it's time for Boucher to hang up the gloves in ODi cricket. De Villiers can take the gloves, which then leaves space for another top batsman, as frankly Boucher's not good enough to bat 6. I honestly think we have a better side on paper at the minute. South Africa don't look the same side as the one that was so impressive in ODi cricket 1-2 years ago. Losing Pollock is big for them.

If Carlsberg ever did pessimists, they would be quite similar to evertonfan !!
Haha !! AB DE VILLIERS GOES !

I must say that Iam impressed with the English pace attack.
Finally, you seem to have found a pace attack close to something you had in 05.
I can`t wait to see them in action in India later this year.Should be a cracking series.
If only there were more tests !

That would suggest that he's pretty economical in Tests, but he isn't really. I don't think his bowling in Tests is the same at all, because he doesn't have this sort of accuracy very often there.
