South Africa in England

These 4 bowlers shouldn't be judged on an inability to get these 2nd innings wickets either. It's Lord's. They did fantastically to get just 10!

Lord's as a 'Test match' rarely produces results. It'll never be dropped. But it must have more drawn games than any other ground.

Saying all that, I think all the bowlers have bowled well. It's just a road.

Haven't watched so should comment but not taking 1 wicket is terrible. We need a hero.

I don't care about whether he's playing well or not. We need someone who we can throw the ball to and say he'll get us a wicket.

Yes Flintoff is that kind of a player and is definitely worth taking a chance with him. Like the saying goes - Form is only temporary....Freddie is permanent!

well what a turnaround from the 1st innings...apart from pansear getting close on 1 occasion, it has been SA all along...they can't win now so england have to do all the work and make them give their wickets away...

I'm not watching the cricket at the moment but from cricinfo live it seems that Hamish Amla has batted very well so early on in his innings.

Congrats to both Smith and now McKenzie, for well played tons, most importantly, when there were needed following on, so far Amla seems to be handling the short stuff rather well.

Only Michael Atherton could call MCkenzies innings magnificent. I still think England will win this tomorrow. We'll come out nice and pumped in the morning and just look to bowl fast and agressive. Certainly if there is a bit of cloud early on we have a good chance.

Very important innings there by McKenzie and all the batsmen so far in the second innings look like they want to stay. Amla looks set to get a decent score although I don't think he will make a half century.

Yeah, in spite of being a poor day for England, South Africa will still have to do it all over again. However, after 180 overs in the field, I'm not so certain that England will burst out of the blocks.

Even if England do win this it will come at a cost as we're straight back into action on Friday. Let's just hope we bat first in the next test!

Amla is a really good player, he is quite different to Pietersen, in fact I'd dare say he is the natural replacement for Kallis. He is very classy but not as vivacious as Pietersen.

England could still lose this.

South Africa bat on, score around 500 in this innings (SL did it in 2006), and then in the 2nd session on day 5, they bowl out England for under 125 on a Day 5 pitch.

You just never know with this game...
I'm gonna requote myself :p

So, South Africa get another 230-240 runs in 2 sessions, leave themselves about 40 overs to bowl England out.

And Paul Harris will have to become Shane Warne and Murali and Mendis combined :p

If the pitch has variable bounce, Steyn could cause PLENTY of problems late in the day tomorrow.
