Yeah, Sidebottom hasn't quite been himself in this Test. We've been carrying him a little bit.

I am absolutely gutted that we're about to lose this series. After going 5 years without a home series defeat, 2 in 2 years is a pretty hard pill to swallow. Ah well, onwards and upwards. How our players react from this setback is a true test of their worth in the side.

All the spark has gone, and if there ever was an admittance of defeat it was bringing Pietersen on to bowl. So we have a bad team on our hands, but I still feel we can beat Australia next year.

The only ray of hope regarding the Ashes is that the Aussies have hardly been firing on all cylinders either. However, they are still a better team than South Africa and if we can't beat them then I don't really fancy our chances of knocking off the Aussies again. But still, i'll support them through thick and thin.

What about these tasty series coming up? England in India - maybe a morale booster. We warded off India in Mumbai. Would be great to do it again, it's only 2 Tests. Then the Windies. SHOULD beat them.

But, Aus vs SAF. Huge indicator of the Ashes.

Yeah, its time to bring the stars back. A bowling attack with Jones, Harmison and Flintoff in will be feared. To be honest i would rather we play 5 bowlers, because we are struggling to bowl the Saffies out.

Everything else pales in comparison to the Ashes. It is the most important Test series in the world, it would be better than beating SA.
