Who will win the La Liga this season?

IIRC, he was involved in a similar incident with a player from Getafe four years back, and got suspended for eight matches.

Really disappointed with Pepe. I know a lot of people are. I know DMs are supposed to be dirty but there is absolutely no way you can do stuff like that. However Barca fans who think its only our players who do this should remember they had a mad man of the highest degree in Hristo Stoichkov.

Coming to the game, it was a pathetic display and I'm glad the margin is just at one goal. If Barca were having one of their "hay" days they could have killed the tie completely.

But before that we have a tough game against Bilbao and with Barca playing Malaga, our five point lead could increase over the weekend if we get the win at San Mames (not at all going to be easy).

I have to say that I always thought that Real Madrid would be in Barcelona's shadow this season. I'm glad that I'm right. Even if Real win the Liga, they can never win a series of matches with Barcelona. Its simply because of better players in the Catalan side.

Great game between Barca and Real Madrid tonight.

Best best? Ronaldo being really really close to crying when Barca went 2 up :lol

lol Busquests feigning it again. How are people so blind to it? Can't believe how barcelona get safe over their diving habits sometimes. Cuenco is a diver in the making too.

Madrid were desperately unlucky last night. They could have so easily been 3-0 up before Barcelona got those 2 goals. The referee also seem to be favoring Barcelona with most of his decisions. Ruled out a good goal by Ramos and then send him off for a non-challenge on Busquets, who was again a cheat with his Hollywood acting skills! :facepalm

Anyone else think that this current Real - Barca rivalry is gonna effect their national team?

Obviously as professionals they should be getting on with it, but if I was a Real player I wouldn't ever want Busquets anywhere near the same team as me. Even as I type out this thought, depressingly I'm struck by the fact that Ramos is a door handle anyway, and Casillas probably doesn't care.

If you were Casillas, at this moment, how much would you wish you were born in Catalan country? :p

Ye it will be really interesting to see how the Spanish team plays in the future given the intenseness of this rivalry. De Bosque's man management skills has to really good.

I've been making the next statement for a while. "Barcelona are the best football team in the world, they are also the best cheaters in the world."

Iniesta is pretty much the only player on their team who isn't to be found diving, rolling around when looked at, or constantly talking to the ref (otherwise known as influencing).

Yep, it was all very well being the 'underachievers' of years gone by with a record to put straight and one of the best midfields of a generation. Will be a different ballgame (well still football, it won't suddenly become table tennis) when they are the reigning champions with everything to defend, everyone gunning for them, and a mentality that has to be adapated to the new conditions.

I guess it's easy to put differences aside for a common goal, yet when you've both already won everything there is to win of note, it must be easier to suddenly notice how much you dislike a teammate?

Don't think so. Spanish guys are patriotically strong but these Barca Madrid incidents only generate spark in the interest of the players' club. All those fights have a selfish motive to start with, and to end in their favour. But in the spanish camp i think they're all good friends and keep the club rivalry out.

Spain wouldn't be as good a team they are if they don't have a mutual understanding between their players considering many of them are from Madrid and Barcelona, so there's gotta be a line from where they don't take their rivalry forward.

OR I'm just plain wrong and those guys hang on with their rivals on the camp to stay in the squad, cos any mess up in the camp would mean they're out of favour.
