10 points now, and what a win. Brilliant to see Raul break the record that I never thought anyone could or would. A true leader.

Nice to see Parejo playing as well. Looks quality.

Have a bit of that, you dirty dirty catalans. Great game, although the second half was a bit of a bore, but thank you Ivan de la Pena.

Seven points now. Haha!

This is just ridiculous and shocking. Atletico should be banned from all forms of football, and stripped off all their titles.

R.I.P Diego Alcala Rivero.

I don't deal in riddles, what did they do wrong?

As far as it seems (I may be wrong but it doesn't say anything in the article) it was an accident. Does this mean we should be banned and stripped of titles for Munich? Or Liverpool should be banned and stripped of titles for Hillsborough?

Don't use that kids death to start scoring points over your rivals m_vaughan. It doesn't surprise me though as you seem to say they're disgusting cheats whenever they score a goal.

Oh come on. Obviously it was not maintained properly. How often do you hear dugouts just collapsing, especially for a top flight (unfortunately) European club. This cannot be taken lightly, and so clubs take extra care it does not happen, they should be punished.

And you do not have any idea as to how sad a club Atletico are. The "rascist" fans during England's visit to the Bernabeu a few years back, were all Atletico fans. They are a disgrace. Even the Catalans have some class.

were all Atletico fans.
:D You surveyed them did you?

I see you've done the safety report then. Everyone else (including your own club) is giving them compassion, while you're trying to attribute the blame to the grieving club to score points because they're your rivals. If this was another Spanish club, just to pick out a random one, Murcia, you'd be posting messages sending regards for everyone at the club no doubt.

My condolences lie with the player's family, friends and relatives (despite the fact that they could be fans of the club). The club however does not deserve any sympathy. Same goes for any club, really.

Dont compare this with air crashes (especially from a much earlier era), because that is completely beyond the control of the club. Its the 21st century now, and I cant accept steel roof dug-outs just collapsing, especially in the top flight.

I'm pretty sure it wasn't the Athletico Madrid ground. So it's not a top flight ground, if it's a nine-year old, it'll at best be an academy ground.

Unfortunately accidents happen, no-one is to blame.

Yeh, it wasn't one of the dugouts at the actual Madrid ground, it was a Sunday Youth League game, so the dugouts would not be of fantastic quality. Have a read of this from another forum, this is what happened:

Diego Alcal? Rivero was an alev?n at Atl?tico de Madrid, the year above my eldest son, Kenny. He was on the subs' bench last Saturday and the shelter of the bench wasn't properly fixed to the ground. This is quite common on the synthetic pitches the children play on in the Spanish junior leagues. There were five kids on the bench at the time and three of them were hanging from the crossbar of the shelter. Diego was one of the two seated. As far as we can tell the two seated kids stood up and the shelter pivoted over and the bar which should be on the floor came up and forward and hit Diego on the back of the head. They airlifted him to hospital; they operated three times; it seems that by Saturday evening the parents and the club knew it was a question of when Diego's heart would stop beating. It stopped this morning, he was nine years old.
Rest in peace, Diego.

Take away their trophies? Don't be ridiculous. You really do make some moronic statements sometimes M_Vaughan, you don't help yourself.

So what? Even if it was their academy ground, it still falls under their responsibility. Accidents do happen but they are fully to blame.

And KP you should be the last person on this forum telling me about making "moronic" (which by the way is considered as a serious abuse in my part of the world) statements.

Coming back to the football, it was really a double bonus last night, and the pressure is now very much on Barca. Atletico can do something usefull and noteworthy for the first time in their history.

Also I am very sure we will overturn the CL deficit, at anfield or anywhere. Wednesday was a one-off.

Haha. This is why football is so great. From runaway leaders and being prematurely hailed as the best team in the world and the invincibles, two eight points dropped in three games, and even worse...defeat to the scum.

Guess Atletico aren't that useless afterall......nah....they are. We'll show them exactly that.

And the race for the title...is ON!

Hala Madrid!
