Villarreal currently leading 1-0. So we might have to wait a little longer to be crowned champions for the 31st time. Now thats what I call LEGEN-DARY.

Barca playing really well, this is great to watch, good goal from Henry.

Wahey! Get in there Osasuna:p. Penalty given away by guess who...Heinze:D, couldn't happen to a nicer traitor. Cannavaro sent off early in the second half. They'll still win the league though.

EDIT: Ah, 1-1:p.

EDIT 2: I'm a bloody fool, 2-1 Madrid:p.

Everyone hail the back 2 back CHAMPIONS of Spain. Good comeback it was to win the game and clinch the title. Higuain's goal Reminds me of how we won the title last year when we again had to come back from a goal down. But this season has been a lot more comfortable for us, although the poor form of Barcelona did help us. Villarreal got off to a poor start but came back strongly later on, but by then it was probably too little too late. I thought we lost a few too many games, but thats partly due to extremely competitive nature of La Liga where on a given day any team can beat any team.

But you have to take the positives out of this season. Casillas is now probably the best goalkeeper in the world and has saved us on numerous occassions. Pepe has been solid in defence and is the perfect candidate to replace Cannavaro, and I personally feel he is more important to us than the Italian legend. Sergio Ramos has improved even more as a left back and can be considered along with Daniel Alves as one of the best right backs in the world. And like Alves he puts in top crosses and scores crucial goals. However he does need to work on his yellow card problems..

In midfield Gago has matured in a solid figure who controls the direction of our game. We have been searching for this since Makelele was sold to Chelsea in 2003, and Gago seems to have ended this search. His ability to win back possession has been so crucial for us this season. Given the fact that he is still so young, you can only see him get even better. Scheider had an awesome start to the season but wasnt quite able to maintain for the entire season. But I guess this year was learning experience for him, as there is absolutely no doubting his talent. Playing in Zizou's position is always so difficult. Robinho is class no doubt but is way too moody and I thought Schuster would be able to tame the Brazilian to play with his heart for the club, but that hasnt been the case. Its a shame because if Robinho really gives it his all game after game, he can do what Ronaldo does for Manchester United. Robben scored a few goals towards the end of the season but I think overall he hasnt impressed me much yet.

Raul showed his old sublime touch this season scoring a lot of goals. And its not the number that matters but the importance of most of those goals. I am a massive fan of this lad, and it was great to watch him regain his old form this year. Van Nistelrooy's year wasnt as good as the last one, but together with Raul they formed a very successful partnership upfront.

Madrid are most probably going to land Quaresma from Porto and if rumours are to be believed then de la Red, Negredo and Granero are all on their way back to the club and will be considered for first team next season by Schuster.

With the title now in the bag, its time to celebrate obviously, but I'd reckon he rest some of the international players to prevent injuries ahead of Euro 2008. Give some of the reserves a chance to gain some experience. We still have the Classico to play though.

Classico tonight......cant wait for the Barca players to applaud our lads before the game.

Been another successful season for us and doing the double over Barca will be the perfect icing on the cake.

Hala Madrid!!

And what a result in the end....4-1!!! Giving those Catalans exactly what they deserve.

The match summed up our season really. Higuain showed once again why he is our supersub. Raul's finish was top class and so was Casillas' fingertips save to deny Messi.

I dont know what quite happened in the Xavi red card incident but I thought it was completely out of character for this otherwise calm and composed player.

And wasnt it brilliant to see the Barca players give us the guard of honour. Felt soooooooooo nice!

Also if rumours are to believed then apparently Eto'o and Deco got themselves carded on purpose in the Valencia game to avoid having to stand in the guard of honour.

Expect a major overhaul now at the Nou Camp. Henry and Ronaldinho are leaving for sure.

We are the CHAMPIONS!! and we just did the double over the Catalans!!:happy:happy:cheers

congrats madrid great season and the game against Osansuna was sensational ;)

I have a question to ask and that is what is the transfer news from a spanish point of view. We always see the Eto is leaving, Fabregas is going to spain etc etc but what to the spanish say about the affairs???

tbh i don't want henry to come back...arsenal have been completely rejuvanetd and depend on all the player rather than just one now...

but that was a great victory for madrid...i mean barca have just gone down the pot after winning CL against arsenal...and it's not because they have bad players...all of the players are incredibly talented but just don't seem to work together...i think their main promblem is the defence and if they get that sorted, they will be the force they were a year or two back...

Thats true, their defence is very ordinary. But thats always been the case in Spanish Football. Only Valencia have been known to be strong at the back, but tradition wise Spanish football has always been about attacking football.

Also I think Barca need to get rid of Rijkaard. He has done a great job for the club but now there are just too many stars at the club, and he is not able to handle it probably because he himself has slight ego problems.

We went through this phase not so long ago, then had to undergo a complete overhaul which saw most our world class players leave and get replaced by youngsters. We also got appointed as coach who instilled the proper work ethics and got us playing as a system and a team. Barca need something like that.

Madrid's campaign ends with a 5-2 win. Was an interesting game actually with end to end action and Levante I thought signed off in style. Guti was instrumental again with his assists and Sneijder's freekick was awesome. Good to see young Codina get a chance, I really expect a lot from him in the future. I was kinda scared about Ramos picking up an injury before the Euros but all went well and he got two goals on top of that.

But the main story is obviously is the relegation of Zaragoza to the segunda. This means the likes of Sergio Garcia, Diego Milito, and Pablo Aimar will be available in the transfer markets. Pleased that Valladolid did survive, I thought they really played well with a very limited squad. But its catastrophy for Zaragoza, although the last time they went down, they did make a swift return the next season.

So the season comes to an end, a successful one for us, winning the title pretty comfortably tbh. Never really felt any pressure apart from the time we lost a few games and Barca were within 2 points of us.

The season did have one extremely low point - the passing away of Antonio Puerta - one of the most talented players in the league and even the world.

We still remember you Puerta!!

Bit of an exaggeration, i saw the lad play, he was decent, but he wasn't one of the most talented players in the world. Very sad that he died, but that's abit far, he wasn't that good.

Something wrong with your sight then as he was in the Spanish national side, which is a big achievement considering the other options that are available. I never said he was the best, but if you had seen enough of his games for Sevilla, you'd know exactly how good he was.

Congratulations to Real Madrid. But I think Villarreal would have certainly given them a tougher fight if it wasnt for the slow start we had. But in the end I am very happy with the second place. And with some new signings now and a good coach in Pelligrini I think Villarreal's chances this season look good.
