Sri Lanka A tour of Australia, June-July 2010

Yeah, I'm not sure this batting lineup is gonna be too much better against bounce. Could be a good showing from a couple of them, but still... no West Australians, no Queenslanders. :facepalm

Speak of the devil, Klinger has a slash. Out.

Oh good Khawaja is playing, this is the perfect deck for him to show the selectors were right in picking him.

Khawaja should make a double hundred from here to justify his selection, Really good player.
Classy.

Aus A lead by 6 runs at stumps. Khawaja 47 and Cowan 34 ended the day, compiling 79 runs for the second wicket.

Dear lord what an embarrassing performance this was. We are better off not playing cricket.

Khawaja out for 69. Was firmly at ease with the pace, but he cut Senanayake in the air. 141 for the second wicket.

Bailey was cutthroat against the spinners. Both batsmen gave Jeevan Mendis a miserable three overs, although he almost had Bailey. Cowan into the nineties. 51 partnership, 1/113 scored in the session.

Fifty to Bailey in 62 balls. He's putting on a show for the Townspeople.

100 for the third wicket. Captain is a bit desperate, as you might be if the opposition were leading by 150+ with 8 wickets in hand. Paranavitana, Chamara Silva getting a bowl while they wait for the new ball. Easy runs.

A century to George the Cutthroat, a ravishing 101 in 110 balls. 1/126 in the middle session. Lead of almost 250.

Not all batsmen who have succeeded in test cricket have had stellar FC averages, Michael Clarke, Michael Vaughan to name 2. Sometimes other factors matter more- temperament, ability to play under pressure etc. Some guys need the bigger stage to perform, at FC level it can be pretty casual for some. Maybe guys like Bailey are just ready made for higher honours.
