The approach used in the last 35-40 minutes might've been used earlier had Mathews been there, imo.

Fair enough. But I would have still put my money on SL not winning. He had just scored a century after quite a while. So I don't think he would have gone guns blazing right after that. He would certainly have looked to get his eye in, take advantage of the situation and get more runs under his belt at the cost of being aggressive because doing otherwise would certainly increase the odds of a wicket falling.

It's against Sri Lanka. A club team could easily beat them. I think this series is just an easy chance to bump up averages and give new players a go.

Because Jadhav was most prabably playing cause of his bowling. His batting was shit. And Fielding was the worst.

Good opportunity for Iyer and Pandey. Kohli less India is like Sachin less India of previous era. Lets see how India go about this series. 4 overs 2/1 is certainly not the best start. Hate how players are handled as if Rahane was not going to play this match he should have been playing for Mumbai to get some good practice before SA series.

It is better to play a QF on Thursday then waste time here not playing at all. There is something called as dedication and Rahane has 100% of it. Also I am sure its tiring it would have just boosted his confidence had he scored good.

Also India are really struggling as expected.

Boy, Dhawan is a proper flat track bully! He is a proper one trick pony and I definitely don't think he's as good as the destructive openers of the world in terms of SR. Why we aren't playing Pant is beyond me!

That would have been the worst decision ever considering not only his form but also the appalling Delhi weather. A serious chance of a injury happening and missing out the big series coming up its better IMO he didn't the Ranji match and also in times like these its better to take a day off but I definitely agree there is no point being in the squad if he is not going to make into the final 11 in the one day series.

We are not playing Pant or as a matter of fact any deserving guys because they are not friends with Kohli. Also to be fair to Rohit and Dhawan, they both have score 1000 + runs in ODI's this year. From Jan 17 to Dec 17.

And it would have been alright had that been the case. We have more deserving candidates waiting in the line but they aren't getting their chances.
