Whats up with the ball moving around that teams found difficult to play ? Its a sort of cliches seeing batting collapses when the ball swings around and nips off the deck not just with India but with teams around the world recently in the 2nd Ashes test Australia struggled against the moving pink ball in the 2nd innings against a quality bowlers (they too have a history of batting collapses bundling out for less than 100 since 2011). Most teams do tend to struggle whenever there is a bit of grass and movement of the deck/in the air perhaps England are the only team who are more accustomed playing under such conditions , is it more to do with techniques or a temperamental thing arising due to lot of t20 cricket and playing on absolute flat wickets making them look absolutely unable to adapt?

This team does not deserve Dhoni! He's let go off all the numbers in the world batting for India at 6 and 7 making sure we win games. Now, he can still make us win games but from 4. He is not the big hitter he was but his experience, presence and sheer determination is more than enough compared to anyone else at number 4. He won't finish games but he will make sure you have a basis for a launch at the end. We keep cribbing 'Who's our number 4?' He's right there, we just don't give him an opportunity!

Anyways, we have been saved the blushes by Dhoni and Kuldeep. 150 might be a good total I reckon but I don't see us reaching there given that we are already 8 down and all it will take is 2 good deliveries.

That was necessary man. He coludn't take singles as chahal was on other end. He can't rely on Chahal to hold on other end. So, Dhoni had to go for big hit. Once kuldeep was dismissed, MSD had no other options.

Dhoni is tailor made for situations like today - India's ultimate crisis man but @kushal17 is right we need him more at 4 or 5 than 6 or 7 his experience will help the likes of Pandey , Iyer or even Jadhav and Pandya who were struggling and found wanting for runs today and in such situations his sheer experience and calmness will help them play their natural game.

I was one of the people here that vehemently backed Bumrah for the CT no ball wicket of F Zaman. But, you have to learn from things like that. He clearly hasn't.
