Sri Lanka tour of New Zealand

Malinga running through the Kiwi lineup. Those two yorkers today were brilliant.

"They can't see Malinga and they can't pick Murali, how are they playing?"

98/8 now.

They can't see the ball being delivered. It's qute obvious. I think theres problems with the sightscreen and the stand. Very strange. But we have faced him many times before and we havn't had this much trouble. At Christchurch they could see fine. It's good bowling, but you can just see that they arn't seeing it well. It's dangerous. Already caused McCullum a heel injury and we are lucky to not have copped it on the helmet yet.

well there is always a problem when the kiwis are losing wickets, sightscreen, cant see the ball but when tehre picking up wickets its briliant bowling. just admit it Malinga is in a groove and the NZ batsman cant do much to stop him. and Murali gets McCullum, beatifull performance by the Sri Lankan bowlers, came out and finished the tail quickly and are in full control of this test.

I think the ground need to look at improving the backdrop.

Dissapointing score from us. A little dissapointing McCullum couldn't hit a few 6's.

I hope we can bowl Sri Lanka out for 150 odd (should be possible) and then chase the runs. There will be a result and if they steal the series victory like this I will be a little annoyed. We really miss Styris. He has been outside Fleming our best test batsmen for a long time. Vital for the middle order.

Always? This is the only occurance I can think of. Do you not find it a little strange? Thats just what all the players, commenters and stuff have been saying. Malinga has definatly bowled well. But apart from Vettori's wicket, the rest should not have been played so poorly. Sinclairs especially. How can a batsmen miss the ball by that distance? That was a shocker.

maybe because Malingas bowling was superb today and even yesterday and all the batsman had no answer for his bowling. everyone knows that his action makes it hard to pick up his delivery and his yorker flies in flatter than it does from the other bowlers.

its a combination of the sightscreen, gloomy conditions (cloudy overhead) and good late swing. Murali got 4 as well, i just think NZ dug themselves into a mental hole alongside brilliant bowling.

lets see what Bond can do , but well done Sri Lanka.

Excellent spell of bowling by SL, they are well in control of his match now. SL openers have got of to a good start too.

Bond is probably not coping with such a large workload. Second test within a week of the end of the last one and he has had to bowl 2 days in a row for each. Probably doesn't want to stress himself too much. The wind won't be helping his rhythm, you also notice that Malinga was about 8 odd KM slower today also.

To be honest. I think it was an important toss to win and our bowling put us in the game. Then our batting put us totally out of it. THe openers got starts and needed to go on, oh well, bring on the ODI's. Hopefully we will have Styris, Mills and Oram fit.

I really don't think we have a chance with such a lot of time left. We may end up chasing 400 odd which just won't be possible. 1-1 it will have to stand as unfortonatly. Of course, miracles can happen. Time to put these tests aside and focus on the ODI's to follow, the VB series, Chappell Hadlee Series and the World Cup.

-> Damn, Bond almost had Jaywardene for another duck. Good decision by the umpire, because it may have hit the bat, if we couldn't tell from TV replays he made the right call. Was too sounds though.

VETTORI GOT EM! We may just be back in the game here. 3 of the top 4 out including Sangakara. Come on boys, keep hope. Sri Lanka were in strong position. Great captaincy for both wickets by Fleming.

He had to fail sometime and today was it but the good thing for SL is that Jayawardene looks like he might go on here.

Sangakarra was probably looking to be to positive andc your right, you cant have a hundred every innings
