Sri Lanka tour of New Zealand

That's until he picks up a wicket every 20 runs or so. They'll come.

Martin had all the sucess this morning. 3 wickets already. And it's a batting paradise. The fact is, the batting has been disgusting at both venues by SL top order so far. Pretty dissapointing. Their middle order is very vulnerable too.

It's good that we have such a great bowling attack. I just wish we played more tests.

Brilliant bowling by Martin I certainly didn't pick him to have most of the wickets and Bond to get go at 5 an over. Once again all up to Sangakkara to steady the ship but doesn't look like anyone wants to stay with him which is a shame as hes making it look so easy.

where would Sri Lanka be without Sangakkara, he just needs the rest of the batsman to stick around for a litle while, and usualy sri lankas lower order can do that as they did in england.

Sangakara is the shining light for Sri Lanka.

Bond has been expensive, but again, no luck. A few fours through the slips and a slower ball which totally did Sangakara but just went over Mid On's head. He's bowling better then it looks. Myabe he is just trying too hard again.

Vettori should have had Silva LBW. I think he is very unlucky not to have. There were two good shouts, the second looking pretty plumb to me. Jerling didn't agree.

talk about Silva, first ball against Vettori trying to slog it!
Do you guyz think Sangakarra would have been as effective this series if he didn't step down from keeper?

Sangakara's blatant running on the pitch is not in the spirit of the game.

haven't noticed that, was he doing it in the first or second sessin cuz i haven;t seen any of the second session yet

I reckon he would have, Sangakkara batting has really risen a notch since his last tour in NZ and we are seeing that now. Second 100 in a row this time no running to celebrate before the ball is dead :)

lol Vettori strikes last ball before Tea. And it really would have been too. Last ball of the over. He could have had 2 by now but never mind.

Bond continues with no luck, 2 edges short of slips in his last over. :(

Lower order will need to stay with Sangakkara can't see how the Kiwis are going to get him out, should be able to get 400 if the tail wags.

Damn, Sangakara dropped in the slips, hard chance. Malinga and Murili left. Getting Sangakara would have been the end of the innings almost.

Thats a huge miss as he could well punish by making a double 100. I see Bond has finally got a wicket to make his stats a bit better.

Our batting has started badly. The two openers, Fleming and Astle gone.

How and Cumming are useless. While they are batting, Papps has scored 120* for Canterbury. It's a shame he had a finger injury, he would have been playing otherwise.

We need to win this test badly. Then we have a good amount of time to sort out our opening problem. They should have made better use of 40 run start. They were in, that delivery from Maharoof should never have been a wicket. Maybe we would be without any more wickets down or just one if Cumming had of been more competant.

Oram may be restricted due to his unfortonate hamstring injury, I hope not though. We have heaps of batting to come luckily. If we can match their total we should be fine. SL got off to just as bad a start with less batting depth, we just need a partnership and a player to get a decent score like Sangakara did.

I think this is the fastest I have seen Malinga throw, causing some real trouble.

Lol not this again, NZ bowl SL out cheaply and now it looks like SL will do the same. Cumming is alright did good in Christchurch. Fleming has been disappointing so far, hes the one that needs to fire if NZ are to make a decent total.

Did good? He was caught 3 times off no-balls. He struggled all the way to 43 each time. He is only there to fill the gap at the moment.
