Can't say that I really saw any basis to the initial lynches on Villain, but the way he has responded is pretty telling. He didn't try to clear himself first up, but rather decided to compare his play to the other two that voted for him.
Still, he has expressed a lot of things which resonate with me, such as his concerns about FPs role and his views on role-claiming. I am still deliberating and have been since yesterday (real time).
But where I really began to doubt him was when he began to hypothesise about his own role as well as the fact that his role-claim kinda seemed like a bit of a scavenge of other role-claims. The insane RB thing felt like a last ditch appeal more than anything, like a kind of plea.
I can't say I agree with a lot of what Surendar has expressed regarding Villain, especially his views about the set-up too as I think it is still to early to jump to conclusions since we have lost two townies, only one of which was a PR. This a bigger game than we are normally used to here and it just comes across as a pessimistic outlook. However, there is no use discussing this right now when currently the game is revolving around the tunneling of a single player.
Villain is at the mercy of the hammer, so there doesn't seem to be anything I can do to sway anyone's opinion, not that I have anything concrete on anyone else but I definitely do not have FP or Rudolph pegged as cert town at this point, and they are the ones who started all this.
Fake Passport was third party initially and there is no reason why he can't still be, no matter how much he stresses that the dynamic of his role has changed, for reasons that I have already stated directly to him. Villain has expressed similar views too, but in an attempt to lay it back on FP because he is getting lynched rather than as part of normal gameplay. There is a possibility he is just echoing what I've already put forward to gain favour, as I've been pretty happy to accept him as town until now.
I can prolong the day by not lynching and say I don't want town blood on my hands, but then I'll incur the annoyance of the town for dragging it out more than is necessary. I do want to end the day though, I can only hope that some of the anti-town who voted for Villain are bussing him because he is also Mafia. I doubt that every single person that voted for him is town.
Lynch: Villain
Definitely lynching Rudolph without a second thought on Day 4 if Villain is town.
In fact, I feel somewhat compelled to lynch him now, but the end of the day is dawning. Feels like a mild Catch 22 situation.
