England Off to a flier inspite of losing Trescothik early ! 54/1 after 6 overs !!

Harsha Bhogle :

England have reached an impressive 54/1 after 6 overs thanks to an onslaught from Geraint Jones and Strauss . They looked in some trouble at 9/1 after the fall of Trescothick`s wicket to a soft dismissal . He edged a Balaji outswinger to the first slip and was out for 8 . Balaji bowled a tight spell but Geraint Jones had other plans . He smashed A.Nehra for 19 runs of his second over . It included 2 sixes and a boundary . Strauss joined the party and hit 3 boundaries as well . England are on the move now requiring just about 4.50 RPO with 9 wickets in hand and the dangerous Flintoff yet to come .India need wickets and plenty of them quickly if they are to come back into the contest . Balaji looks th most likely to pick up a wicket. R.Dravid must do somthing different . Maybe introduce I.Pathan immediately into the attack or even Harbhajan very quickly . I thought he was bold in setting a very attacking field eventhough there was a chance that it would backfire on him ! It all looks set for a cracker here at the Oval . ATM its 60-40 to England .

Here is part 2 of the predicta challenge.
Predict the MOM
Predict England`s topscorer .
Get anyone of the 2 right to win rep points !!!

A look at the Jones onslaught !

Jones took A.Nehra to the cleaners scoring 19 of his 2nd over . This partnership is looking dangerous for India !

India strike back through Irfan Pathan ! England 77/3 after 11

Harsha Bhogle :
India have come fighting back into the contest thanks to a double strike by Irfan Pathan to remove the dangerous A.Strauss and the captain M.Vaughan to have the match nicely poised with England at 77/3 after 11 overs . Andrew Flintoff has joined G.Jones who is on 35 . Earlier Jones and strauss had taken A.Nehra to the cleaners in a useful partnership . Ashish Nehra more than compensated for a lacklustre display with the ball with a superb catch to dismiss Strauss and H.Singh followed suit taking a similar catch to get rid of Vaughan !

England need to slow down a bit here, and should concentrate on not losing wickets.

the natwest stumps look cool ! don`t they ? Thanks to Sundeep

England on top ! 140/3 after 22 overs !

Harsha Bhogle : As the sun is just beginning to set here at London , England have risen after the fall of the 3 quick wickets ! Andrew Flintoff has just blsted from the outset and put India on the backfoot once again in this match . Flintoff has scored 44 from just 32 balls and is not done yet .Geraint Jones has scored a patient fifty to ensure that the innings does not fall apart . With 119 runs to get from 28 overs, England look well on course for a win but R.Dravid would know that its still not over . If India can pick up a couple more very quickly, then the complexion of the game will change very quickly indeed . India need to pick up wickets and R.Dravid has done the right thing by setting attacking fields .

Can India pull off another miracle in this Natwest Pentangular or will the home side win this on a canter ? Stay tuned to the ESPN-StarSports continuing coverage of the Natwest Pentangular 2005 .

Update :
India 258 all out (Dravid 72 , Laxman 42) Harmisson 3/62
England 140/3 22 overs (Jones 51* , Flintoff 44*)

Match in the balance ! England 161/5 after 31

Harsha Bhogle :
India have bounced back yet again in this match and now the game really stands in the balance to set it up for a wonderful climax this evening ! The problem which had plagued India came back to hlp them this time . Yes , India were back in the contest through a bad piece of running by Flintoff and he was runout for 52 . Kevin Pietersen thn followed Flintoff to a walk back to the pavillion when he ws lbw to Singh while attempting a sweep shot . England are 166/5 after 33 overs with Collingwood and Geraint Jones at the crease .
