Week 2 Of the Natwest Pentangular ! Australia V West Indies

Harsha Bhogle : Hello and well come to Southampton and we have some relieved ussie fans here as Australia have beaten the West Indies by 37 runs to register their first win in this Natwest Pentangular courtesy a superb hundred by Mattew Hayden . One must though appreciate the fabulous fight put up by the Wst Indies who were comprehnsively beaten by India in their first match . With me is Michael Slater !

Michael Slater : As Harsha said , the aussies must be a releived lot after this match . Thy looked out of sorts to me in their first two matches but today they looked like the aussies of th old but not 100% though . I think it is going to be really hard to stop them from now on ! Hayden`s innings ws a treat and he looked set for a 170+ scor when he was out to Gayle . India, beware ! The aussies are back !

Harsha : Thank You Mike ! We`ll now head towards the presentation ceremony where we have Bob Willis waiting !

Bob : Welcome , ladies and gentlmen to the presentation party . We have seen a keenly fought contest with Australia in the end being th deserving winners . My I now call upon Brian Lara to have a chat . Brian , tough luck . dissapointed ?

Lara : Yes . but I thought we did well to restrict them to 277 after their score was 216/0 after 38 overs . We started off well with the bat . Gayle was outstanding and a couple of decent partnerships at the top brought us back into the contest . I was runout at the wrong time and at a time when we had a partnership going .

Bob : Good luck for th next match . I woul now like to call upon Ricky Ponting . Ricky , releived !

Ponting : Yes , we are . We did not start off well but now I feel we are finally getting things right . HAyden was superb today and his partnership with gilly put us well on top . Our bowling effort was very proffessional and Symonds directy hit to get Brian run out was a crucial wicket . We hope we can carry this form into the remainder of the series .

Bob : Congrats Ricky . I would now like to call upon Mattew Hayden to collect the MOM trophy and a magnum of champagne !

Hayden : Good to b back into form and help th team win . The wicket was great to bat on in the first innings and we thought that it ws a great oppurtunity to cash on . We had been getting good strts but could never capitlize in the past few games but today we did and the result is there to see.
Bob : Congrats , Matty . Thts it from here . See you again at the Oval for India V England .

India V England ! Live from the Oval

Harsha Bhogle : Welcome to The Oval for what should be a super saturday . India play England at the Brit Oval in the 8th gme of th Natwest Pentangular and its time when we will just get to know who is heading towards th finals of th Natwest Pentangular . India have played some superb cricket till now and England who last played Pakistan at the Oval look in decent form as well and time is ripe to avenge their defeat against India at Lords in the first game of the Pentangular . With me is the great Geoffery Boycott , Geoff who would you put your money on !

Boycott : As always , my money stays in th pocket though I feel your team India looks in good form, don`t they ! Sachin has a hundred , Dravid a 70 , yuvraj and Sehwag all look in decent form . The pitch at the Oval is the best to bat on in England and there is no better place for a batsman to strike form . Its a good time for my Prince of Kolkata to strike form ! I heard that Sehwag will not b playing this game du to an ankle injury and that is a good news for England !

Harsha : As you would expect geoffery`s money stays in his pocket . As we speak, Ravi Shastri is down pitchside with the pitch report !

Ravi Shastri : The pitch here for this game looks an absolute picture . Its white , shiny and heaven for the batsmen . A score of 300 may not b safe on this one . Expect a run feast .

Harsha : Expect a run feast ,says Ravi ! We will wait and see .
We have Bob Willis with the 2 captains for the toss .

Bob : With me are th 2 captains, R.Dravid and M.Vaughan and the Match Ref. Clive Lloyd . Dravid is to call . He calls Heads and heads it is .
Rahul what hav you decided to do ?

Dravid : We`ll have a bat . The wicket looks beautiful and we hope to score a big score and put pressure on England .

Bob : Sehwag`s injury . Is he playing .

Rahul : No . John Gloster has adviced a week`s rest an we`ll reassess the situation later . Sourav will open with Sachin as in the last match .

Bob : Best Of Luck .
Michael, the pitch`ll play the same throughout ?

Vaughan : Yes it`ll . It does look a good pitch as the Oval always has been and if we restrict thm to a reasonable score of around 260 , we have a decent chance .

Bob : All the best Michael . Th news from the centre is that India have won the toss and elected to bat first.

The pitch looks good for Batting!

Looking forward to the start of the match :)

India 83/2 after 15 overs

Harsha : India are off to a good start here at the Oval . They are 83/2 after 15 overs for the loss of Sachin and Sourav Ganguly both bowled . Ganguly`s wretched run continued and as they say, when you re gointh through a rough patch you seem to get more good deliveris than you would normally get ! Nevertheless , India would be reasonably happy at this stage .

Geoffery : Yes, India would be happy at this stage but not too much . 83/2 can so easily be 90/4 and then it does not look all that smart, does it ? The PRince Of Kolkata got a beauty today and th only way to face a ball like that is watch it from the non-striker`s end ! VVS looks in good form and if he can string a big on with Dravid, then India look good for a 300+ target !

Harsha :: Thank you for th moment Geoff !
Now its time for Predicta Challenge ! Today`s questions are :
What will India`s score be ?
a) 150-200
b)200-250
c)250-300
d)300+
