Saisrini , I felt it would be better to have Rahul as a captain since the team was doing well under him and Sourav as his deputy would be fine for this series.

End Of West Indies Innings ! 194 All Out !
Harsha Bhogle : A slow , damp wicket was what Mike Holding expected in the pitch report and tht is what we got . The ball sometimes bounced below knee height making us feel that 194 by the West Indies could just be competitive , With me is Tony Cozier . Tony, 194 a good score on this track or are the Windies a few short ?
Cozier : First of all , Harsha , even though the wicket was not great for batting , the Windies batted poorly . Hinds played away from his body and so did Lara . Lara looked so, so good for a big one but he got out to a loose stroke . What was required on this wicket was discipline and application and the only batsmen to have shown that wre Gayle and Sarwan . Though both of thm batted painfully slowly, it is only becaus of their 38 and 43 that the West Indies could reach even 194 . Giving away 5 wickets to Yuvraj Singh is unpardonable even on a wickt like this . All that the Wst Indies supporters will b hoping is to see a fight from them ! ATM , they seem to lack energy . The wicket is keeping low but if the Indians apply themselves well, 194 should b quite easy .
Harsha : Will the Indians try for the bonus point ? Should they ?
Cozier : Iam not so sure about that . It all depends on how they start off . They have Ganguly coming back after a bad run of form and he would like to settle down and the target will allow him to do that ! If the Windies can pick a few early, then Yuvraj has not looked in the best of form and the low bounce would certainly trouble the batsmen . I think we will see more and more of uneven bounce from now on !

Sourav : Very good feeling Ravi . The last 2 months were really tough but now its a new beginning .
Ravi : You do not have to worry about captaincy now . Will we see Sourav batting more freely today ?
Sourav : I think yes . I always play my natural game but when you go through a bad phase it seems as if you are not playing freely .
Ravi : 194, chaseable on this track ?
Sourav : Definitely yes . With the sun bathing down the pitch should ease up a little . I hope we win this one .
RAvi : On last question before you go out there to bat . You were on of the most dangrous ODI openers and along with Sachin formed a great opning combination . Good to be back in the opening slot ?
Sourav : Yes , it is a good feeling to open the batting with Sachin with whom I have shared many 100 run partnerships but sometimes you have to do what is best for the side and since Veeru was in good form we decided that he would open with sachin .
Ravi : Good luck Sourav !
NOTE : Since not many boundaries were hit in the Windies Inns. , I have posted fewer screens to the previous matches .

I dont, as I think he is a bit too mild to be a captain. He is an awesome player, but not sure about his captaining skills, will only come to know with time.saisrini80 said:

India 112/4 after 23 overs ! Match nicely poised !
Harsha Bhogle : India have scored 112/4 after 22 overs here at Manchester in reply to the West Indies total of 194 . India looked to be running away with the match at 73/0 but the windies have pulled it back by picking up 4 quick wickets . India could well find themselves in trouble if they lose a couple of wickts on this pitch which looks very sub-standard indeed . Tony , hav you seen the fight you wanted from thr West Indies ?
Tony Cozier : Yes , they have looked sharp accurte and even when Ganguly was batting beautifully they did not let their shoulders droop and after getting his wickets they got 3 more in quick time . Now they might even be thinking of an outside chance of a win if thy get Dravid out immediately .
Ganguly looked to be getting back into some sort of form . LAxman was unlucky to get a ball which bouced very low ! SAchin , I feel was not out . The replays showed that the ball was clearly going down the leg-side .

sorry guys on not keeping you updated . I will be unable to post regularly today and tomorrow due to my AIEE entrance exam . The rest of the India V West Inies match will be covered tomorrow . I`ll try to post some screens and the concluding part of the match today if possible ! Till then stay tuned to the Natwest Pentangular 2005!
