The PlanetCricket Battrick Sledging Thread

Easy win, although didn't do too great with the bat against a bot. Only managed 876/8 dec.

Nock top scored with 182 with von Hoesslin scoring 151, Gilroy with a run a ball 121 with 3 sixes down at #8 and Euell scoring the only other century with 102. 92 for the skipper (Gatting), 77 for Bittner and 56 for Clist. Unbeaten 50 for Fieldhouse down at #9 and Roff was the only failure with 11 and Clayden only faced 3 balls at the end of Day 2 when I declared.

Gilroy took 4/2 off 13.5 overs (11 maidens) to bowl them out for 57 in their second innings.

Could be set for a second place finish though as the team who I managed to draw in our second match hammered the other favourite (won by an innings and 142 runs) and that team was on top of the only other human team even though they drew. So my own and MYRH's performances against Relaxmore. Note that I accidently played one of my reserve batsman as an all-rounder (worthless bowling and went for heaps of runs) since I forgot to replace Deane who I sold just beforehand.

MYRH vs Relaxmore

MYRH 1st innings - 39 all out
Relaxmore 1st innings - 430 all out
MYRH 2nd innings - 249 all out

Relaxmore won by an innings and 142 runs

Relaxmore vs Hedgers XI

Relaxmore 1st innings - 468 all out

Fieldhouse 3/132 (34)
Clayden 2/82 (27)
Iftikhar 3/91 (32.3)
Gilroy 2/44 (19)
McGregor 0/105 (15) - What did I say?

Hedgers XI 1st innings - 244 all out

Bittner 26 (101)
Clist 5 (39)
Euell 56 (80)
Gatting 34 (66)
McGregor 25 (76)
Von hoesslin 31 (63)
Wikus 27 (64) - Now replaced by Nock who is a lot better in both batting and keeping
Gilroy 19 (53)
Fieldhouse 3 (7)
Clayden 0 (5)
Iftikhar 0* (0)

Relaxmore 2nd innings - 495/6

Fieldhouse 1/82 (24)
Clayden 2/115 (27)
Iftikhar 1/94 (22)
Gilroy 1/67 (17)
McGregor 1/122 (18) - How the f**k did he take a wicket though. He got their skipper out on 97. Anyway, he's been sold now.

fuming at my club captain here.

just sold cox, long serving w/k. one time top club run scorer. cox is on 98 needing two runs to win, oakley is basically a specialist captain, only a respectable bat, cox takes a single to tie the game off the 4th ball of the over. 2 balls for oakley to block out so cox can sign off with a match winning century in the next over.

the selfish git hits a four. cox on 99* in his last ever innings for TJE.

Well it would have been a nice way to finish his career at your club. Sack the captain :p

I think Bittner is my club's top run scorer (most runs for the club).

32 FC matches, 45 innings, 4915 runs @ 126.03, SR 83.36, HS 350, 6 50's, 18 100's

80 OD matches, 63 innings, 3213 runs @ 91.8, SR 103.75, HS 201*, 20 50's, 8 100's

52 BT20 matches, 37 innings, 1565 runs @ 74.52, SR 166.84, HS 148*, 10 50's, 4 100's

I'm lucky I have quite an easy weak of games, my bowlers really need some rest to get their PFL back. If I was still training Ingham and Manders I wouldn't have a chance, so am pleased that I ignored the NT coaches and kept them for myself :p

I'll at the end of the season will be moving my team to Ireland for the next 4 seasons. So all of your Australian fans bye bye :wave:wave

lol, Grady Gilroy took 5/64 off 24 overs in both innings in the FC earlier in the week in a drawn match. Summaries were pretty close so a draw was a fair result. They had a better middle and lower order as well as seam bowling but my spin bowling was well ahead.

Reporter's Summary MYRH Hedgers XI
Top Order: quality quality
Middle Order: strong respectable
Lower Order: feeble abysmal
Seam Bowling: quality proficient
Spin Bowling: strong wonderful
Fielding: feeble feeble

MRYH 264 a.o. (Joyce 69, Woolner 60, Gilroy 5/64, Iftikhar 2/68) and 334 a.o. (Woolner 111, Joyce 84, Gilroy 5/64, Rowe 3/41) drew Hedger's XI 239 a.o. (Bittner 100, Gatting 80, McLeod 4/60, Joyce 2/25) and 162/7 (Gatting 51, Bittner 44, McLeod 3/35, Nickson 3/47)

lol, pretty much the same trend there, Joyce and Woolner scored the runs for them in both innings, as did Bittner and Gatting for us and Gilroy took the wickets for me while McLeod took the wickets for them.

But then had a bot bashing with Bittner 131 off 116, Clist 141 off 127, Nock 54* off 37 and Gatting 27* off 20 as we scored 358/2 before Gilroy took 4/18 as we bowled them out for 63.

Leagues:

First Class League: #2 in VIII.92 - League is tightly contested between the top 3 and haven't thrown away points to the lower teams, as I have won 3 games against the bottom 3 teams and drawn the top team and 3rd place team although I'm well behind in points to first place, since they beat the 3rd place team so I trail by 18 points to first and lead by 14 points to third.

One Day League: #5 in V.177 - 5th place is guaranteed and I doubt I will finish higher since I lose all the close games.

BT20: #1 in VI.1022 - All bots except one, what a joke.

My Battrick account was about to be closed so I thought I'd make a good effort to try get into it. Mind you I didn't do too badly, only lost 2 matches.

It's one of those games which requires a lot of commitment as unlike FTP you don't have the youth comp to look forward to if you are doing crap in the seniors.

Yea, well I read through some of the stuff in the newbie section and poked around the forums and I'm getting to grips with where everything is and what stuff means so should be alright. Currently 3rd in all my leagues without doing anything.

Well, you are in a lower league with bots and weak teams..so yeah! When you promote to higher division you need a lot of commitment for BT tbh
