Trans-Tasman Trophy (NZ in Australia), December 2011/12

Yeah, I think someone's been tweaking with his chip the past seasons. Possible rampant steroid use also.

Just heard that Ryder equalled Symonds record of 16 sixes in an innings in his knock of 175.Very sad he couldn't make a double century and got dismissed off part timer Maddinson's bowling. What were Australia A thinking.!!!!!!!!!!
Giving bowling to Warner and Cowan off whom Ryder smashed 28 in one over.
NZ all the way!!!!!!Aussies don't stand a chance in the tests if NZ continue to play like this.

He was batting like that against none of the front-line bowlers.

Looks uncannily like Freddy Mercury.

I think if half the Aus A attack hadn't been selected for the first Test, the frontliners would have been given a longer bowl. But there wasn't much to be gained at the end of a match like that.

There's not really such a thing as tactics in a tour game. Other goals tend to be more important than winning or even just looking proper.

Wonder if we will go with 4 seamers, doesn't sound like the spinner will get much use. However if the Gabba pitch is like last years one then we will need the spinner.

Depends on the pitch of course, but I pretty sure heard Arthur talking about Lyon and Siddle needing to step up and lead the attack, implying that Lyon is a part of his plans. We'll see, but Watson's absence might make a difference. Having 4 quicks might help cover for Watto's overs, and then Clarke and maybe Warner could cobble together 5-10 overs a day of spin.

Even if the pitch isn't overly bowler friendly, playing 4 quicks is the safer option.

I know they were forced into it by injuries but I'm glad the new panel wasn't frozen in the headlights and have rolled the dice on youth.

Very surprised Copeland is not in there, he did so well in Sri Lanka.
