I doubt you'll have to do that, in any save, I always lose to South Africa. I'm hoping to change that and as long as Tariq and Khan are there I'll be fine...

Don't injure those two! :p

Well a great match for the neutrals and Saffers fans, but just crap for us. We had the game in the bag at one point, needing just 58 runs with 4 wickets in hand, with Inzi and Razzaq at the crease.

We bowled well for 9 wickets in the first innings, before we let their 10th wicket partnership get a stupid amount of runs. 76 to be precise.

We batted ok, but on the sort of track it was, we should have made 400. Too many starts, not enough big scores, and no century. All but one of the batsmen made it past 15 (Not including No.10 & 11), only one made it past fifty.

We gave ourselves a chance with some good bowling, leaving just over 350 for victory in just over a day. We looked good, and the win looked very possible as Inzi passed his century. The lack of partners cost us the game, only one other batsmen making a fifty. We fell 32 short in the final session of the match, and it now means we have a huge task of salvaging something from this series.

Unlucky with the loss there, Jack. Smith was fantastic against you but it seemed you gave it away when you should of easily won it. As long as your batsmen can convert your starts then you should do better.

Well, what a win! The game look destined for a draw, but we pulled it out of the hat thanks to some awesome batting and even better bowling.

They batted well on a good solid pitch, and it looked like it would be a draw or another loss. Butt continued his exceptional form making 148, and everyone contributed. Misbah, Afridi and Razzaq played some great knocks down the lower order to give us a big lead.

With time running out we needed to bowl them out for under 200 and chase down whatever we needed in the last session. Afridi was awesome, picking up 5 wickets on a pitch that offered no turn. Razzaq was superb again, getting two himself. Anjum and E-akbar also chipped in with a couple.

Needing an easy 32 to win, we went about it badly. Butt went first ball of the innings, and Farhat decided to shut up shop. We lost Khan before making it to our target with 8 wickets left, taking 16.4 overs to get there. That's a whopping 2 runs per over!

A brillaint win that leaves the series poised on the final test.

We won the toss and decided to bowl on a batsman's pitch. South Africa started well and their opening partnership was as strong as ever, putting on 93. There was then a lunch break and the first ball back and Afridi got Gibbs for 49. Kaneria gets Kallis some while later for 23 but then Afridi strikes again to get the other opener, Smith, for 47. From 93/0 to 123/3, a mini collapse. De Villiers(34), Duminy(23) and Amla(21) all followed after making good scores. 277/6 to 436/7. Puttick and Pollock put on a match threatening 159 for the 7th wicket partnership. Pollock was the man to go for a fantastic 77 off 151 balls but it had got them into control for definite. Joubert came and went and then Puttick finally got out. Kaneria was the man to get him for 154 off 314 balls. We then got Terbrugge out shortly later and their final score had been posted. 467. A great score thanks to every player, bar two, scoring at least 18. They bat till 9 and all their top 9 got over 20. Nazir was our main bowler with 4-93 and was fantastic whilst Kaneria(3-101) impressed. Afridi got 2 wickets but couldn't really get going and was too expensive whilst Gul got 1 wicket. Asif the only bowler to get no wickets. A big score which means we'll have to score at least 350+ for a good chance in the match.

It didn't really go according to plan as we were soon 64/3. Tariq(8), Khan(19) and Yousuf(17) all got small starts but none of them could capitalise on them. Niazi and Alam put on 72 to try and get us back in the match and it did to a certain extent, 136/4. Niazi going for 43 in the end. Afridi(1) and Akmal(12) came and went as we crumbled under the pressure and were 161/6 and looked to have no options left with only bowlers left to bat with Alam. Guess what happened? Alam and Gul put on 97, yes 97, for the 7th wicket partnership! This took us past 250 which we definitely would of taken cause of our situation. Alam went for 112 after a sensational innings. Nazir got a golden duck and Kaneria only managed to get one before Umar Gul went out. He got... 50! Umar Gul got our second highest score and a half century, his first ever. 291 was our score and we would have to bowl incredibly well to get a chance in this match. We were pretty much destined to lose.

It was South Africa's turn to bat next. Asif got the first wicket, that of Smith, for 9 runs which showed our good start. We needed 9 wickets now and guess what? Kaneria got 8 off them. Gibbs(27) and Kallis(24) provided the top order resilience before both getting out to Kaneria. De Villiers got a golden duck to Kaneria before Puttick got bowled by Kaneria for 12 runs. Duminy then became Kaneria's fifth victim for another duck. Amla made a slow 20 off 103 balls before getting caught lbw by Nazir. Kaneria the cleared up the tail getting Pollock(8), Joubert(9) and Nel(1) all before they could make a good start. Kaneria ended up with sensational figures, best yet since I've been manager, as he got 8-27 off 17.4 overs! He only conceded 1.59 runs per over. Nazir was our second best bowler and he was very good getting 1-28 off 17 overs, at 1.65 overs. Asif wasn't that good getting 1-38 from 8 although Afridi was good despite not getting a wicket. We needed 290 to win, 1 less than our first innings, to win the match. We bowled absolutely impeccably well.

Tariq and Khan put on 156 for the first partnership as they continue to be the best partnership in the world and both keep getting personal milestones. Tariq was the first to go for a respectable 79 off 169 balls. This was his 3rd Test 50 which marked him having 776 runs from 10 innings at an average of 86.22. Not bad for a 23 year old. Khan and Yousuf then put on 52 for the second wicket partnership as we seemed of found the form that South Africa had in the first innings. Khan fell just 3 short of his second 100 off the tour as he managed 97 runs. Niazi and Yousuf then took us home, getting 40* and 61* respectively. We have won by 8 wickets from a match we shouldn't off won by any stretch of the imagination. Everyone batted well in this innings but it was thanks to Kaneria in the second innings, mainly, on why we won. What a legend. This win means we've also won the series!

Reaction
Well a brilliant performance from the lads. We managed to make it with over half an hour to spare on the final day, a quite comfortable win in the end.

We bowled ok in the first innings, but Gibbs and Rudolph were pretty class. Razzaq again took wickets, topping off a great series with the ball, and Afridi was brilliant as usual.

With the bat we were awesome once again. What we didn't do in the 1st test has certainly been made up for twice over in these last two tests, as we put up 447. Khan was superb, and Farhat was slow, but batted beautifully. Afridi managed the tail brilliantly and was unlucky not to get his century.

We bowled well for the second time in two tests in the 2nd innings. E-akbar finally bowled well, and Anjum continued his consistent form.

Our chase was top notch. Farhat and Khan got things going again. Afridi put some impetuous in the innings making 16 from 10 after being promoted to 4. Yousuf and Khan finished things off with time to spare. Khan deserved MotM, but Afridi can't have been far behind.

A brilliant win to cap off a brilliant comeback. Onto the ODI's...

South Africa had the same first innings as they did in the last match. Smith(45) and Gibbs(59) opened the innings brilliantly before going to Kaneria. Kallis then made a quickfire 21 before getting out lbw. De Villiers(60) and Puttick(72) put on 119 together and put South Africa in a commanding position at 256/4. Duminy came in and finally made a good score after constantly scoring 20's this series. He scored 103 off 146 before getting bowled by Nazir, the same way Puttick went. Amla(68) was the only resistance after Duminy as they soon skittled out for a very high 478. Kaneria got 4-119 as part of our spinning team worked, Afridi having an off day and only managing 111-1. Arafat(3-79) and Nazi(2-55) were the best pacemen but we should of restricted them by even more.

It was our turn to bat and it started promisingly with Tariq(46) and Khan(81) batting well together as they seem to do most of the time. Arafat(24) and Niazi(21) couldn't convert their starts into a half century but at least added to the scoreboard. Alam made 18 before a flourish of wickets came in which we didn't score many runs. Afridi(8), Akmal(4), Malik(6) and Nazir(3) couldn't get going and left us at 221 and needing 57 runs to avoid to follow on from our last partnership of Kaneria and E-akbar. Somehow and I don't know how, they did it. Kaneria got 29* off 42 and E-akbar got 34 off 47 including a six as we stormed to 283. It wasn't a good score but at least we didn't have to follow on which I was scared we might of had to do.

It was now South Africa's chance to get their lead as high as they could so they could embarrass us. Smith(45), Gibbs(22) and Kallis(29) all gave decent scores as that was only what was required. De Villiers came and made 17 as their wickets seemed to be going quicker than they wanted. Puttick then put that right as he came in and took the innings by it's throat and scoring a miraculous 114, when all others were failing. Duminy made a short 16 and then it was left to Amla to bat with the tail. He did so quite well but fell just short of the end of the innings, falling for 37. The Proteas thought this was enough and ended up declaring on 334/9. Thanks to Puttick we now had to try and chase 529 down. Arafat and Kaneria were the main performers again, Arafat this time getting the most wickets as he got 4-92. Kaneria got 1 less wicket and conceded slightly more runs as he ended up with 3-96. Afridi and E-akbar were both poor as neither got a wicket. Nazir and Malik got 1 wicket each but Nazir was expensive. Malik was very economical for once.

It was then our turn to try and chase down 529 against a good Saffers attack. Khan(9) and Arafat(7) both failed to try and get a good start to help us in our crusade. Tariq and Niazi though had other ideas. Tariq made 148 from 148 balls as he tried to win us the game in the short amount of space we had. Niazi made 134 from 130, going slightly faster than Tariq but failing to score as many runs. Alam was the next man in and unfortunately he got injured and had to retire hurt. A quick analysis says he will be out for 5 weeks. Afridi(95*) and Akmal(111*) carried us home in unusual conditions as we recorded a whitewash of South Africa. We batted superbly at 6 runs an over to get our victory and nearly all our batsmen fulfilled their potential. This was a historic win and an unbelievable chase for Pakistan. Bring on the Twenty20!

Highest ever chase by a huge margin. I'm still annoyed how you seem to pull out an unbelievable win every time I win!

Haha, I would love to say it's skill but I think it turns out to I'm lucky. Whenever I'm in trouble I get some form or some rain but whenever you're doing well you usually get rain. It's been more even than our series results say. Many times in the recent matches we were literally on the same score at the same time. :p

Good write up Jaz. Treva has some catching up to do now. Good luck guys;).

Well a poor showing with the bat cost us dearly, and we lose our momentum going into the ODI series.

We one the toss and batted first on a belter of a pitch. We lost regular wickets and never really got going, something we hadn't done since the 1st test. We could only manage 138/5, and I knew it wouldn't be enough.

We gave a valiant effort at restricting the South Africans. Kaneria was brilliant, picking up all of our wickets. They needed 19 off 3 overs, which soon became 6 off 2 overs after a big Razzaq over. We managed to take it to 3 off 1, but they made it with 3 balls to spare.

We will have to perform much better if we want to win this ODI series.

Reaction
We won the toss and decided to bowl first. Graeme Smith(9) and Herschelle Gibbs(4) both failed to get many runs and went quickly. Kallis and Rudolph then came in and took it to our bowlers and were hitting fours all over the field. Rudolph eventually went after hitting 66 off 46 balls. Duminy only could manage 6 which brought AB De Villiers into the attack. He hit an unbeaten 20* off 8 balls alongside Kallis' 53 off 49 balls as the Proteas went on to score 158. It was a decent score which meant we would have to bat at around 8 runs an over. Nazir was our main bowler with 2-29 and was only one of three bowlers to get wickets. Afridi(1-25) and Malik(1-37) were the other bowlers to get a wicket.

It was our turn to try and chase the score down. Iqbal lasted a mere 11 minutes before getting out for 10 runs. Tariq improved on his last Twenty20 score of six by getting 32 runs off 25 balls. He eventually got bowled by Pollock. In came Inzi and Afridi who smashed their way ahead, both getting into their 40's. Inzi fell just short of his half century, managing 42 runs, as we looked set to win the match. Our two aggressive all rounders sealed the match for us though as Afridi's 41* off 24 balls and Arafat's 33* off 18 won us the match. It was a promising innings and if we can carry this batting form into the One Day Internationals then we have a chance. I haven't lost an ODI yet in charge of Pakistan.
