Tri-series in West Indies - June/July 2013

Looks unlikely that Sri Lanka will not make the final. Its more likely now between India and WI. If India make it, WI will rue that close game that they had against India because it hurt their NRR. If India don't make it, they will rue the same close game against WI because one additional wicket would have given them victory and 4 pts.

So one of these two teams might rue that game.

Any idea about the criteria for the Indians to qualify
1)If they bat first
2)If they chase??

I rather see them bat first, it will alow the Lankan bowlers to extract the early moisture on offer at POS. However the rain might have the biggest say in tomorrow's match!

It solely depends on the target/defending score, but this is what Cricinfo had to say...

India are currently the laggards, but a victory will almost certainly take them into the final at the expense of West Indies. For a target below 321, India can win off the last ball and still get their net run-rate above that of West Indies. For larger targets, India will need to win with a few deliveries to spare (or by a margin of a handful of runs).

If its anything the media has downplayed this issue, still dont know why the players havent been disciplined.

Do you think this fight will have any effect on the team camaraderie Krishna?

We will come to know about it only when we see the boys in action.... Hope it doesn't affect the cameraderie....

Sikhar Dhawan plays another hit and miss inns, failed once more for 15 runs. Excellent start by the Lankans, Kohli is the main man, if they can get him early they are gonna win!

Clearly conditions seem to favour the bowlers.

Now I find no reason why Karthik should be up there in the XI against Zimbabwe.
That is a lot of opportunities to prove yourself, isn't it? It should clearly make the way in for Pujara!

Loving how Sharma looks like thriving in such situations now, important thing would be to not lose it away, like he has been doung it before.

Great stuff from Sri Lanka IMO, they're now playing on the 3rd consecutive day, and doing really really good. Quite good to see Mathews now getting mature with every game he leads his side!

Yes,Dinesh Karthick is a very talented cricketer. But he has wasted all his oppartunities.A wasted talent actually. And Pujara is an asset,India shouldnt make him play ODI s now and waste him too.High time we give Mohammad Kaif another chance. He is a brilliant fielder too.

Mohammed Kaif :) What a resourceful player he was once!
Anyway, a lot of players deserve a chance before he does, and tbh, his time is gone!
We cannot just sit back and see Pujara warming the bench, we'll better get to know when he is out there, and if you ask me, he'll not disappoint!

Kaif, forgot about that guy, brilliant fielder.

So the rain has set in, good thing about D/L is that it tends to always favour the batting side, so SL should comfortably win this game!

This game looks like it will go into tomorrow. Which means that Sri Lanka will potentially play a test match by being on the field for 5 days in a trot (6 days if the final is also taken into the reserve day).

India are not in that bad a position. If this game goes into tomorrow, India will receive a shot in the arm. They need to make it to 240-250 odd and then try to bowl well at SL. We are not out of it yet.

Strong possibility of rain tomorrow in POS, would mean that SL are through the final, as much as I want this I hope we still have a game tomorrow.

Play begins at 4.14pm. India's innings is over. Sri Lanka will get 26 overs to chase 178 in

This is absurd.Pathetic calculation :mad

Sri Lanka look in a very good position to win, atleast realising there might be a rain halt,Indians must have played a bit more aggressively. This is ----!

SL require 178 in 26 overs, come on guys send the Indians packing!!!!!!!!!!!!
