India on course of an easy win!

India 111/2 - 15 overs
Sachin Tendulkar 48* (54)
Yuvraj Singh 41 (37)

India are on course of recording their first victory of the series in the first ODI against England at Dunedin. England who scored 235 in their innings, must be blamed for very poor bowling. When they got Sehwag for 0 in the second over, they should have tightened things up but they let go the opportunity and Sachin and the newly promoted No.3, Yuvraj Singh took full toll of the poor bowling from the Englishmen. Here is an over by over update with screens of the Indian innings.

1st Over: Sachin hits the second ball of the innings for four. Gough then bowls a wide ball which Jones misses and the ball goes for 5 wides. India 11/0

2nd over: Sehwag is gone second ball caught at slip for nought. Sehwag tries to cover drive but gets a thick edge and the fielder at slip makes no mistake. Yuvraj, promoted to No.3, starts off with a single. India 12/1

3rd over: Brilliant third over by Gough. Tendulkar repeatedly beaten outside off stump. Tendulkar looked like getting out every ball in this over. India 13/1

4th over: A Yuvraj over. Yuvraj sweeps the second ball for four, followed by an imperious straight drive past the fielder for another four. He then picks up 2 runs off the last ball. India 23/1

5th over: Another Yuvraj over as Yuvraj pounces on Gough hitting him for 3 fours in the over. Gough bowled a very poor line giving Yuvraj room to free his arms. India 35/1

Yuvraj's Innings Highlights

6th over: Tendulkar who struggled from his 4th ball till the 16th ball to score a run, finally breaks the shackles and comes down the wicket to hit a four straight down the ground. He then sweeps the last ball for four to score 8 runs off the over. India 43/1

7th over: Another fruitful over for India as the England fielders get into the act of misfielding. Yuvraj hits a glorious on drive for four off the last ball. India 56/1

8th over: A thunderous over for India as Tendulkar scores two fours off the first two balls, picks two runs off the next two balls and then Yuvraj scores a four and a two off the next two balls . India 72/1

9th over: A good over for England and from Flintoff as India score only 3 runs off the over. India 75/1

10th over: India score 3 runs off the over to move to 78/1 off 10 overs at 8.2 per over

11th over: India score 5 runs off the over. Tendulkar hits a brilliant straight drive for four. India 83/1

12th over: First ball, Tendulkar picks up a single. Third ball, Yuvraj out LBW!!! Yuvraj tried to sweep a full toss from Gough but badly misses it and the umpire Rudi Koertzen has no hesitation judging him LBW. Ajay jadeja opens his account with a square drive for four. India 88/2

13th over: Tendulkar hits a perfect straight drive again for four as India move on to 93/2

14th over: A gorgeous backfoot cover drive from Sachin off the first ball. India 99/2

15th over: A mayhem over as Tendulkar launches into the attack, hitting three boundaries in the over - a straight drive, a flick and a sweep shot for four. India 111/2

this is now an easily to be won match..

India has a history to crumble at unexpected situations. they should better keep that in mind here...

YES good work by india by why did sehwag have to get out :( on 0

But he is that sort of a batsman who either hits lot of runs or gets out for single digits.

It was a nick to second slip... and a great catch too...

India 123/3

From now on, will post over by over commentary!

India 156/3

16th over: Brilliant over from Flintoff. Only one run scored. Tendulkar hit on his hand and his head by short balls. Play stopped for a few minutes due to some treatment on Tendulkar's hand. That was a very painful blow from Flintoff to Tendulkar. India 112/2

17th over: BRILLIANT OVER FROM GILES!!!! First four balls were dot balls. Fifth ball, Giles produced a ripper off a ball which Jadeja had no clue and tried to straight drive it but got a thick outside edge but luckily for Jadeja, it went behind for four. Jadeja lucky to have survived. India 116/2

18th over: Tendulkar OUT!!! A full toss on off stump from Flintoff and Tendulkar tried to sweep the ball to the boundary. But it was mistimed and the man positioned at midwicket made no mistake in pouching the catch. England starting to bowl more with purpose here at Dunedin. Only 8 runs scored off the last 3 overs. India 119/2

19th over:A brilliant over spoilt by two wide deliveries. Giles is surely having the batsmen in splits with his great impeccable line and length. India scored 4 runs off the over (including the wides!). India 123/2

20th over: Terrible decision by England to replace Flintoff with Harmison. India score 7 runs off the over to reach 130/3. Jadeja nicks a four behind the keeper.

sehwag20thover4ay.jpg

21st over: Again, brilliant bowling by Giles. He is bowling with unnerving accuracy here.Only 2 runs scored off the over. India 132/3

22nd over: Harmison gets thrashed for three fours off the over and India reduce the required runs to below 100. Jadeja cover drove the first ball for four. Dravid launched into the fifth ball and hit it over the bowlers head for four and beautifully on drove the last ball for another four. India 145/3 and need 91 runs to win off 28 overs!

dravid22ndover3kr.jpg

23rd over: A mediocre over from Giles as India score 5 runs off the over. Giles seems to be losing his line as he bowled another two wides in this over. India 150/3 and need 86 to win!

24th over: Gough bowls a good over for only 4 runs. India 154/3 and need 82 runs to win!

25th over: A brilliant over from Giles as India score only 2 runs. India 156/3 after 25 over mark and need 80 runs to win!

Predict ur choices!

Predict ur choices Contest!

As the series is going on, the sponsors Adidas have announced a new contest for the viewers. The questions are:

1. Predict the winner of the series
2. Predict the Man of the Series
3. Predict the Most Valuable Player of the tournament
4. Predict the player who will hit the most number of sixes in this tournament
5. Predict the player who will take the most number of catches in this tournament

Contest will close after the first innings of the 5th match between New Zealand and England gets over at Auckland.

Winners need to answer at least 3 out of 5 questions to get reputation points from me! If the response is not so good, members getting even one question right will get reps from me!
