Why change a winning combination?? India are doing well without Ganguly.

May be, for Ganguly to get used to the surroundings. Anyways, he is going to captain the team in the tests against New Zealand!

i think ganguly should open the batting in odi with sehwag to get his confidence higher

and then bat at his orignal slot in test

Thats what I consider doing.

IN real life too, he should open the batting in ODI's. He is best when he opens as he gets the freedom to play attacking and lofted shots!

England - New Zealand fifth ODI!

England vs New Zealand at Auckland
  • If England win today, they enter the final against India
  • If England lose today without New Zealand getting any bonus points, then England will hope that New Zealand gets beaten by India in the final match!
  • If New Zealand wins against England with a bonus point, then they need to either win against India or keep their net run rate above England (Will explain this scenario more if it occurs!)
  • If New Zealand wins with two bonus points against England, they automatically qualify for the final because they will be 6 points as opposed to England's 5 points.

  • So, various scenarios possible right now and its going to be between England and New Zealand to fight it out for a place in the final for which India have been booked a berth!

The England team has reached Auckland by the evening flight from Wellington and will take on New Zealand immediately today in the Day/Night game. Both teams have a lot to play for and this is going to get interesting and the calculators most probably will have to play their part if England lose today!

This is going to be an autoplay game! But will post some screens of the game and all the stats screens like scorecard, batting stats, etc.

England and New Zealand go into the match with the same teams that played in their previous matches. For England, it must be hectic as they play two one day internationals in two days! The wicket here is a very Hard one that is great for batting. But we cant predict a score because the teams have belied beliefs in this series.

Trescothick & Flintoff guide England to respectable total!

Marcus Trescothick and Andrew Flintoff guide England to respectable total!

Marcus Trescothick and Andrew Flintoff have guided England to a respectable total of 232 on a good batting pitch. England started off slowly scoring just 62 off the first 15 overs but gradually built up momentum with Trescothick leading the way with a very fine 97 before he was run out to a ugly mix up. His innings was studded with 12 fours and he flayed the New Zealand bowlers brilliantly during his innings. One shot that will be remembered from this innings of his was the perfect straight drive down the ground which had absolutely no obstruction at all from the fielders. It was in a single motion - bowler bowling the ball and the bat hitting the ball and the ball racing away for four.

Andrew Flintoff carnaged the New Zealand bowlers at the fag end of the innings to help England reach the total they have reached so far. Flintoff's innings was just plain aggression at its best. e carnaged two huge sixes that touched the roof of the stadium tops. His fours were just savage hits that had the fielders in fear of not touching them on their way to the boundary. Flintoff, along with Trescothick has been instrumental in England getting a respectable score that can give New Zealand a very tough ask of winning the match and keeping their hopes in this series alive!

Other valuable contributions came from the batting hero for England in this series, Geriant Jones who scored a valuable 30 and Micheal Vaughan scored a good 31 off 45 balls. Andrew Flintoff received a conteoversial decision when he was caught by Stephen Fleming at covers off the bowling of Scott Styris. The ball appeared to have touched the ground when Fleming dived in front to pluck the catch. The decision was referred to the third umpire but the third umpire found the catch to be legitimate and gave the green signal to the fielding side.
