New Zealand start off well!

New Zealand off the blocks!

After the first 15 overs, New Zealand have started off well scoring 61/0 after 15 overs. Stephen Fleming and Nathan Astle have batted very well and have scored 39* and 20* respectively. Nathan Astle is particularly looking very good in confidence and that shows in his shots! He has scored faster than Fleming who at first took a lot of time but still has outscored Astle and is motoring along well.

New Zealand now are past the 15 over mark. Since this is a 49 over match, they need 162 runs off 34 overs. They need less than 5 runs per over but the English bowlers are always dangerous and came back anytime at the New Zealand batsman and the New Zealand batsman should guard against them!

Nathan Astle GONE for 39!

Nathan Astle has been dismissed for 39 caught by Andrew Flintoff off the bowling of Paul Collingwood. Astle, who has been aggressive in this innings, hit the previous ball for a huge six into the stands. When he tried to repeat the same shot for the same result, he top edged the ball in the air. Andrew Flintoff got underneath the ball and safely pouched it for Astle to be dismissed for 39 when he was looking good for a half century!

At the other end, Stephen Fleming has is not out on 47*.Scott Styris joins Fleming in the middle. If England can pick 2-3 more wickets, they can put heavy pressure on the New Zealand and move towards a comprehensive victory as they did in the second match of the series! 131 to win off 26.3 overs at 4.98 per over!

ohh no astles wickest is a big blow for NZ

hopefully they can regroup

Stephen Fleming reaches half century!

Fleming reaches half century

Stephen Fleming has reached a deserved half century as New Zealand are in pursuit of 233 to win the match against England and keep their hopes in the tournament alive! But the problem for New Zealand is that their required run rate is starting to increase. Fleming is scoring his runs in a slow manner but one can easily say that it might cause trouble in the latter stages of the match as the pressure builds and it would be tougher for the other batsmen to take risks in upping the tempo! Styris batting well along with Fleming and New Zealand now need 106 off 19 overs! They have scored only 25 runs off the last 7.3 overs!

good runs by fleming but the runrate is a worrying sign for the kiwis

New Zealand under pressure!

Fleming OUT! New Zealand require 69 runs off 10.4 overs
Stephen Fleming 87 (135)

A blow again to New Zealand's chances of winning the match. Fleming is out for a well made yet slow 87 off 135 balls. Fleming flicked Flintoff to the leg side and ran for a single. He then called Styris back for a second. Styris hesitated but finally gave in to the captain's call and they started the second run but Steve Harmison ran from the cover boundary to pick up and throw the ball to Geriant Jones who whipped off the bails. The decision was referred to the third umpire but Fleming was found a few inches short of his crease and was rightly given out!

Scott Styris not out on 41* at the other end. Craig Mc Millan joining him now with New Zealand requirin 69 runs off 64 balls at more than a run per ball. New Zealand have the wickets in hand but the runs are coming at a very free flow for them! They need to do something to improve their scoring rate!

Scott Styris reaches his half century!

Scott Styris has reached his half century off 64 balls as New Zealand require 54 runs off 66 balls to win this match! Good running by Mc Millan between the wickets saw New Zealand score quicker than before! Still, the required run rate is mounting and they seriously need some big strikes to the boundary before they start panicking!

Required Run Rate: 7.04

New Zealand require 54 off 46 balls to win!

this match is shaping up to become another tense one...come on england...you can do it

This match is heading right down to the wire. New Zealand now require 34 runs off 24 balls with 6 wickets remaining. England have picked up 2 wickets now with Scott Styris getting out for 51. Mc Millan played some very aggressive shots including a six straight into the sightscreens. But just when one thought he would carry on, Mc Millan was out in a dramatic fashion. Ashley Giles bowled a spinning delivery with full flight. Mc Millan charged down the wicket and hit it high and long to the deep mid on fence. Darren Gough who was standing at the boundary decided early that the ball had the distance in it to go for a six. But suddenly, he saw the ball not getting the distance but getting the height. The ball came down and Gough stuck his hands high with his feet periliously close to the rope. He caught the ball, held it for a few seconds, and then threw it in the air to avoid going over the rope with the ball in his hand. The decision was referred to the third umpire and Mc Millan was given OUT!

Earlier, Stryis got out to a brilliant one handed diving catch by Kevin Pietersen off the bowling off Andrew Flintoff. Styris could not believe his eyes as Pietersen flung himself onto the ground and plucked the ball out of thin air. Styris trudged back to the pavilion for a fine 51 but he knew that he hadnt finished the job yet for New Zealand. With the two catches of Styris and Mc Millan, one can easily say that the English fielding has been top notch today!

Can Chris Cairns and Chris Harris fashion a nerve breaking win here for New Zealand? Or will England have the last laugh here and move into the final of this exhalirating series? Watch out here. The scene is surely hottening up!

New Zealand require 18 runs off 12 balls!

Holy crap!!! Chris Cairns gets out for 12 as New Zealand now face the prospect of scoring 18 runs off 12 balls to win this match! A fantastic slip catch by Trescothick as Cairns is dismissed for 12. Harris is yet to open his account as he has faced only two balls so far! Brendon Mc Mullum has started off with two fours providing some relief to the tensed New Zealand captain, Stephen Fleming who is sporting a "everything rests on this game" look.

18 off 12 balls? Will the Kiwis do it? Will the black caps win this match? Can England stop them from winning this? Watch out!
