Superb start for Sri Lanka

INDIA ON THE ROCKS - 17/2 (5 OVERS)!!!
V.Sehwag 4*(10)
S.Ganguly 7* (6)

Current RR: 3.4 | 45 overs remaining

For those who thought 235 is a pretty easy target to chase, hold your words back. Sri Lanka have struck back big big blows to the Indian attack. Run chase is getting very tough in these night conditions with the ball moving around and the pitch getting on the slower side. India have lost two wickets and are tottering at 17/2 after 5 overs.

R Mahanama: Thats a very good start for the Sri Lankans. They have picked up two very important wickets of Sachin Tendulkar and MS Dhoni who batted at number three.

R Shastri: Yes Roshan. Sachin played an ordinary shot to a yorker delivery and missed it to be bowled whearas Dhoni almost repeated the same shot expect that this time, it was a straight yorker on the off stump which he tried to straight drive and it hit the timber.

R Mahanama: Yes Ravi. And see, those loss of two wickets has put the skids on the scoring rate of the Indians. They are scoring at just over 3 per over. Now, the target of 235 looks very challenging for them.

R Shastri: Yes, Sehwag and Ganguly need to keep up with the scoring rate as well as not lose their wickets. The passage of play from now till the 25th over is very crucial to the outcome of this match. Sri Lanka are certainly back into this game and with a roar!

I think I have to use the advance slog shots here as its terribly tough to score runs. Ganguly's 7 runs includes a six to deep long off! But still it will be very rare. And its not very easy to slog off Tutsi's patches

India 17/2 | V Sehwag 4* | S Ganguly 7*

India into more trouble!

INDIA 62/4 - 15 OVERS!
S.Ganguly 39* (42)
N.Zoysa 2/26 (6)

Current RR: 4.1 | Req. RR: 4.97

Sri Lankans have put in a terrific performance with the ball today and look the favorites to win this match and move up 2-1 this series. In an exciting and a surprising turnaround, the Indians are found wanting in the batting department with not many batsman to give support to the Indian captain Ganguly who is now batting on 39*. In fact, Ganguly has been totally out of form lately but its a reversal here where he is coming into form and he finds no support at the other end.

Sehwag in his usual careless way, skied a ball to mid on and was caught for 12. Then Dravid joined Ganguly but the Sri Lankan skipper in a superb thinking, introduced Jayasuriya at the end where Zoysa was bowling. Jayasuriya immediately responded to his captain's call bowling a faster delivery that Dravid completely missed and the umpire had no hesitation in raising his finger. Dravid was gone for 3 and India were dealt a big blow to their chances of winning this match!

Yuvraj and Ganguly are right now at the crease but they have to make sure they score at a good rate and also keep their wickets intact. After them, Kaif is left and then the Indian batting goes into their tail which would be more easy for the Lankans to wrap up.

Sri Lanka are the favorites right now! Meanwhile, Ganguly is playing a very valuable innings under pressure. He has been severe on Vaas and he also seems to put a price on his wicket! India right now needs him to make a big score if they are to win this one!

India in a pretty bad position, common dada

Very bad position if you ask me!

India got to buck up and score faster and preserve wickets.. I just noticed that chasing under lights for the human players is too tough using Tutsi's patches.

This is the second time I am faltering chasing under lights. Last time when Pakistan scored 220, I won by just 1 wicket in the end. Lets see how this goes. Sri Lanka are favorites now! Their spinners will be pressed to service soon and that will make it really tough to score.

Ganguly OUT!

INDIA'S LYNCHPIN FALLS! - 63/5

Ganguly OUT and with this, India's chances fading severely!!! It was an risky run but Chandana, one of the best fielders of Sri Lanka swooped on the ball and hurled the throw at great speed at Jayasuriya who made no mistake in whipping the bails off. Ganguly gone for 39. India 63/5 and are almost down and out!!
