Well if the weather is the same next year as it is now in most parts of India, the England boys will have it lucky. Otherwise it'll be England vs India + Heat. I can't see the likes of Harmison, Jones, Hoggard, Flintoff pulling off more than 4-5 over spells. And you just got the early morning swing, if anything. You need a spinner to win in India unless you've got a horribly accurate seam attack (like Australia).

Australians played well in india..they adapted quickly. If england is a professional team, they should be able to play the heat.

Its India's time to return the favor to Pakistan this time by losing both ODI and Test Series.

dude some time back in some thread every Pakistani fan thought so...as does rahul over here... :)

and the aussies took some 36-37 years to get an attack together which could allow them to defeat India on Indian soil...I think England has a few years to go in that... but if India play as miserably as they did against the aussies then even Pakistan have a decent chance... otherwise they will definitely trouble us in the shorter version but not in the tests... ditto for the other major nations that play India in India this season...

I think if Gautam Gambhir is able to solidify his place in the team and the pace bowlers stay out of injury, India's test season is solidified pretty well. If worst comes to worst, we could just produce dust bowls! But ODI cricket swings either way and unfortunately India's on the wrong side of hte pendulum now.

India need a cricketer with that magic something in thier ODI side.....like England have Flintoff, Jones and Collingwood who can change the course of the match dramatically. Aussies have Symonds, Gilchrist and Clarke, Pakistan with Afridi, Inzamam and Razzaq(and Mahmood if you want to thin of him as a permanent member now),New Zealand with Chris Cairns, Fleming, Oram and Wilson now, but no one for India. Irfan Pathan might turn into one but India needs one for those 2-3 years befor Pathan matures. Agarkar has been slightly ineffective recently, but he coud do the trick.

2004/05 Feb-Mar HOME v Pakistan
Result:India will win the test series.Pakistan will win the ODI series.

2004/05 Apr HOME v Bangladesh
Result:Total sweep by India(It's India's home so they can't loose to Bangladesh as they did before)

2005 Aug AWAY: ODI series (Ind, Sri Lanka, W Indies) in Sri Lanka
Result:India 50% Sri lanka 50% chances of winning.

2005/06 Oct AWAY: Super Series (Aus, Eng, Ind, Sth Africa, New Z'lnd, Pak, Sri Lanka, W Indies, Zim, B'desh) in Australia
Result:Tough, but India have a chance if they play all matches as they did in the World Cup 2003.

2005/06 Oct AWAY v Zimbabwe
Result:Total sweep by India

2005/06 Nov HOME v Sri Lanka
Result:80% -20% chances for India & Sri Lanka

2005/06 Jan-Feb AWAY v Pakistan
Result:50%-50% chances

2005/06 Feb HOME v England
Result:India wins.

India has a better chance of winning at Home.India has better chance of winning test matches than ODIs.

Hence India would win home test series surely.

I hope India reverses their ODI form this year. I want India to beat Pakistan in both tests and ODI's. We are surely a better test team now.. we need to pull up our socks for the ODI's. I dont know what happened to the ODI tea? we played very well till the Pakistan ODi series last year. Then all went downhill. May be we should get back to the Ganguly-Tendulkar opening combination. Ganguly doesnt play that well coming down. And I dont think we need Laxman for ODI's. A specialist keeper (MS Dhoni) would do good with the bat too!

I think the biggest hurt that the Indian batting line-up has suffered is the mis-fluency of Ganguly. He used to be an absolutely devastating strokemaker who just tore attacks apart with his brilliant off-drives. Now, he just seems to have sobered down too much. It's possibly because of team responsibility, and I guess I am just being nostalgic. But Ganguly, even when he opens, takes a long time to get settled before getting out.

It is interesting that India's performance depends largely on Sehwag. If Sehwag fires, the whole Indian team plays more confidently and if he doesn't, then they play slow and a bit passive cricket. This is probably the ideal example of how important the opener's position is in both forms of cricket.

What about with the ball???
Yuvraj is one....granted......Sehwag tends to like to get out early but yes maybe him.......but thats it for our batting. Dravid is reliable, and Sachin also needs to stay in longer and Ganguly has been a little slow.

ganguly has ben a little slow but remember that he is a playr with 21 ODI 100s and maximum no of sixes by an indian player in ODI`s an right up there with top six hitters in ODI cricket . He is one of the cleanest hitters of spin bowling .
Sachin - He can play the way he wants , slam bang one day and steady the other . He scored 600+ runs in the world cup not so long ago at a gr8 pace too .
Dravid has a 21 ball 50 against NZ .
So do u still think they r not matchwinners ?
With the ball we have bowlers who can be potential matchwinners ,
Z.Khan - verages around 25 with the ball in ODIs
I.Pathan - A star in the making
H.Singh - Should b picked head of Kumble in ODIs
The fourth and 5th bowler`s slot is a problem Iam worried of ,
It could be Kumble on spin friendly or sluggish tracks ,
We have seamers waiting in th bench like Balaji, the ever unpredictable Agarkar and the erratic Nehra who can demolish batting lineups on his day
The biggest problem will be to select a quickie from those three bcoz neithr of those 3 are consistent , either have a prob with injuries or can cost u plenty on some days
sehwag and sachin can bowl 10 overs to fill up th 5th bowlers spot

I think that we have a decent ODI lineup and sometimes it is very surprising to see our team fare better in Tests than in ODIs bcoz most of our btsman are attacking batsman and are better suited for ODI cricket
In fact we were playing gr8 ODI crickt till the Pak tour last year an even gave australia a run for their money in the vb series except for the finals
I think that the bad time we had till the end of the last year was just an off season and we will certainly perform better this year and win a few tournaments
