All Time ODI Cricket Draft <---Shravis uppp

Haha I imagine KPs asleep - it'd be like 4 in the morning.

But while you're waiting, what do you think about the draft order bro? Keep as is, or randomise it? I'm happy going with the current format but maybe you can think of a reason why we should change.

The other thing that could be done is to randomise the order in each round, but do it systematically. You could make it so a person always picks in the top half of one round and the bottom half of the following round for example, but you could draw random spots to see which exact spot you end up with. If it's completely random I'm a bit worried it won't be fair but maybe it could be structured to be random and fair. Might write a paper on it for my next thesis :laugh

Couldn't go wrong mate! I'm sure you're uni lecturer will love it :p

I reckon both are great, willing to go with either. I'll stay on the fence :p

If enough people withdraw we could start again with less people... This is just all over the place at the moment.

Sorry lads, as Sifter rightly pointed out, it was 4am at that point, only just woke up.

Andrew Flintoff

Another all-rounder to add to my side. Freddie's an epic bloke and a fantastic cricketer, taking 169 wickets at 24.38 whilst also making 3394 runs at 32.01. Liking the look of my attack now.

Lance Klusener

Known as Zulu, he started out his career as a specialist quick bowler, but ended it more renowned for his destructive hitting in ODI cricket. The combination of both make him the perfect man to finish off my innings at #7. He also had a great knack of picking up wickets as a more than handy 4th or 5th bowler. That's what I want in my #7, a man who is equally proficient with both bat and ball.

Became legend at the 1999 World Cup where he was named player of the tournament. He was arguably the most feared player in world cricket at that time. There he took 17 wickets in 9 games avering 20.58 and bludgeoned 281 runs at a strike rate of 122 for only twice out. In fact in that 2 year stretch of 1999 and 2000, he had some fantastic numbers: 68 games, average of 53.9 and S/R of 91.6 with bat, mostly playing at the finisher although occasionally opening or at #3 where he scored 2 centuries, and 80 wickets averaging 26.07 at an economy of 4.43 with the ball. Surely one of the great peak periods any all-rounder has had.

As his pace fell he also developed the ability to bowl off cutters which helped entend his all-round career for a couple of years, but he still managed to be one of the very few players to have a batting average 10 runs above his bowling average over his career averaging 41.1 with bat and 29.95 with ball.

Jeez, another all rounder KP? You're really going to have to have some top class openers and I don't think you can beat mine :p.

Don't worry about that, I've got a couple of names in mind for the opening spot. It's the rest of the bowling attack I'm more worried about. Have a couple of guys in mind that I'd like, so I'm just hoping they don't get taken.

There's no real shortage of good fast bowlers though. Have a pretty long list. There are two guys I would really like though. I know for sure you're going to go for one of them.

no, sorry, it's round 5 we go top the random one?

good sneaky pick with Vaas tumtum (though waqar and mcgrath are the real stars of your attack), did not expect him to come up so early, had him earmarked for maybe the next round.

Andrew Symonds

Cricket's knight in coloured clothing. With an average of 39.75 and an exceptionally dangerous strike rate of 92.44, he is one of Ricky Ponting's favourite players. Having won many game for Australia, Symonds is also one of the greatest fielders to play the game, often saving 30 runs and taking two wickets per game simply with his fielding. Also provides a very handy bowling option, either off spin or seam bowling.
