All Time ODI Cricket Draft <---Shravis uppp

ah ok well 2000-2010 Test XI would be good, dont think that has been done yet

Hmm, that may be too short if you are looking to have more than 4 or 5 people lol.

How about players who made their debut 1970 and onwards?

That one was already done, it was me, King Pietersen, aussie ben and someone else.
I could probably start a thread with a poll giving a few options and the one that gets the most is the one we could do.

We'll get the draft underway with the 8 members that we have. The draft will be conducted in reverse order meaning that every round of drafting, the order is flipped, ie. if you are the last pick in the first round then you are first in the second round and so on..

Player Eligibilty:
- Players that have played in the 90's onwards must have played 75 ODI's
- Players that played before then must have played at least 25 ODI's
- You are only allowed to draft no more than 4 players from one nation
- You can pick a player from an associate nation, but they must have played more than 75 ODI's and at least in One WC.

The draft order:
Round 1
1.1 - Howsie
1.2 - shravi
1.3 - Harishan
1.4 - StinkyBoHoon
1.5 - Gazza
1.6 - sifter132
1.7 - King Pietersen
1.8 - TumTum

Round 2
2.1 - TumTum
2.2 - KP
2.3 - sifter132
2.4 - Gazza
2.5 - StinkyBoHoon
2.6 - Harishan
2.7 - shravi
2.8 - Howsie

Full draft order will be posted in the Opening post soon..

Good luck! and remember when you select a player, try make the effort to write a small paragraph as to why you chose that player and feel free to put up a pic of them. Also whenever you make a pick, keep track of your XI .

I thought that was post 90s? I think the post 70s one just stopped after about 2 or 3 rounds.

O yea your right it was post 1990s. So 1970 onwards doesn't seem like a bad idea.

Dare added 2 Minutes and 19 Seconds later...

Too many players imo. Makes it far too subjective.

The reason I was thinking post WW2 was because then we could have 10 or so really competitive teams.

True. It would be loads of fun. However, the problem I'm seeing with it is people viewing the past with rose colored glasses and hence looking down on players like Matthew Hayden and Virender Sehwag.

Also, I would love for 10 teams to participate but wouldn't that take like 3 months? lol. 24 hours per decision and 10 teams. That means 11 days for 11 players. 11 days x 10 teams = 110 days maximum.

Allot of us are active really active and visit the forums often during the day. We could shorten the time to 12 hours.
We had something like 8 members in the ODI draft that metallics organized and it got done quickly because people were active and posted their picks quickly.

Alright Howsie, make your pick! Is there some sort of mod control that admins or mods could give us over this thread so that all members of the draft can edit the title to show whose turn it is right after they have made their pick?

Sachin Tendulkar

Easily the best batsmen too ever play one day international cricket IMO, Sachin Tendulkar's fashioned a career over 20 years that might never be bettered in this form of the game. 442 matches over four decades, Tendulkar has racked up 4000 more runs then his nearest rival. 17,598 runs at 45.12 including an amazing 46 100's and 93 50's, Sachin Tendulkar was also the first man too hit the elusive double century in one day cricket. He was also a pretty decent bowling option in his younger days and has picked up 154 wickets so far in his career at 44.

I picked Tendulkar because he gives you everything you need in a good one day team, a fantastic opener who will go on and make big 100's while scoring at a very good rate.

1.Sachin Tendulkar
