All Time ODI Cricket Draft <---Shravis uppp

Me me me. Make it 75 matches minimum, I think. I would say 100 but KP still hasn't reached a 100 and he should be in there. What I found was that people started trying to justify picks by future potential when they had no idea who to choose. That's why a 75 match limit would be more apt.

I did not know this! Ridiculous stat!

Quite easily the most destructive wicket-keeper batsman. He truly changed the face of the game in that wicket keepers are now required to be able to hold their own as batsmen. He struck fear into the bowlers' hearts and could win matches for you single handedly, setting the tone for the entire innings with blistering starts. The fact that he had a strike rate of 97 over a career spanning close to 300 matches speaks volumes of his ability. Not only that, he scored a staggering 9,616 runs in his career. It's quite amazing that he was an opener and a wicket keeper- a true testament to his fitness levels. He also holds the record for most dismissals for a wicket keeper in ODIs and has the most centuries for a wicket keeper. He was also a great pressure under pressure with three fifty plus scores in 3 consecutive World Cup Finals (54, 57 and 149).

I picked Gilchrist because he's just an outstanding player. He could play as a batsman alone but I've chosen him as a wicket keeper obviously. It's not as if his wicket keeping took a back seat either. He was a world class wicket keeper. Also, there are very few good ODI wicket keepers so it's best to go for him now.

+ Adam Gilchrist (AUSTRALIA)

2000-2010 sounds good. Plenty of class players, and this way you're getting a real team, not a side full of champion players.

Starting to wish I had signed up for this :(

Hope the test one starts soon

Nah I'll sit out, I don't know much about ODI cricket anyways so I'll just be reading.

IMO Shravi missed a trick by taking Gilly this early. One player comes to mind straight away.

I know who you are thinking of but I don't think so. A good wicket keeper batsman is pivotal and there are very few of them. Best to get one now considering there are 8 teams.

I would have taken Gilchrist straight away. No better way to start your team than with an explosive opening batsman who triples as an excellent keeper and wonderful captain.

Yeah but you're Australian :p Thought about Gilchrist myself, pretty hard to go past Tendulkar though. Never really a fan of going first it must be said.

Yeah you had all the pressure mate. Glad it wasn't me - but then again you can't go wrong with SRT.

Or Gill-eeeee :p

Sorry, just trying to finish the rhyming thing.

Harishan made this thread, he needs to keep up!
