England left the field deflated and worried after Australia racked up 521 for 5 depsite being once 273 for 5. Two magnificant 100's from Clarke and Gilcrhist enbaled this huge run lead. Clarke brough his century up first after playing soem typical cover drives and stright drives of all the English attack. Not long after this Gilly brough up his 100 of a mere 110 balls including six 6's! By now Australia led by 490 runs and it seemed England just waited for that ineviatble declaration.

D.Gower- Australia ahve done all the hard work and now its down to there bowlers to finish of their work. England need a big score from somebody especially with this weakened attack.

England are 521 runs behind

great pres but on that symonds photo is the ball going to square leg and fine leg is doing a random dive!!!:)

Its a double post.

Symonds and Hussey will be kicking themselves from throwing their wickets away like that. Nevertheless the Aussies are still in command of the game.

Double post is correct now see the top of this page sorry for any confusion.

great work mate, england i feel may have thrown this away keep up the grt work

England have fought hard hitting 159 from a mere 32 overs. Largely thnaks to Strauss's 97 not out, England have put themselves into a strong postion where they can atempt to score the remaing runs and keep themselves in the game. Cook went early falling to Lee who foudn the edge to the capatin, Ponting at 2nd slip. However England built a strong partnership with Bell reaching 51 before he fell just before Tea. He fell to Clarke who was favoured to Warne just before Tea. However it paid of with Clarke inticing Bell in a late cut which he guided suicidally to First slip.

D.Gower- After such a demoralsiing inings with the ball it woudl have been easy for England to throw away this game, however strong batting and determination has kept them in it..

England are 362 runs behind

A.Strauss registered hsi first ton of the tour after hitting 105 in the evening session. A great innings which was just needed but his departure gave Australia an early boost. Falling to a edge it brought Collingwood to the crease who has batted very well ending on 43 not out. Meanwhile at the other end Pietersen has been destrcutive launching 3 sixies in an innings of 91 not out. England still have alot to do but will feel in a good position now.

D.Gower- Australia wanted more wickets in the evening session and with the new ball due woudl have looked to wrap up the innings in the morning However instead Eng;and have a set batsmen and look strong.

England are 218 runs behind

I have just purchased crciket 2007, however i will not be using it for this tour untill the end of the test Series so once the Test are completed i will switch to Cricket 2007.

great update there mate england are going really well hopefully these 2 can make 100's and aim to be at about the same total as the aussies

cool story sofar mate looking forward for the update

C'mon KP restore some pride for the real England team, England can bat on and possibly get a lead. I can see this heading for a draw if it stays high scoring.

Australia fought back from having England 303 for 3 to ended up at lunch with England 437 all out. This was largely down to 5 wickets from McGrath who picked up the key wickets of Pietersen and Flintoff. Pietersen fell first adding no runs to his over night score. This brough Freddie to the crease who smashed the ball stright from the of. Eventually he hit 7 sixes ansd had amassed 99 runs, however requiring jsut one more run for a century Flintoff fell to a edge induced by McGrath straight to Gilchrist. By now Collingwoof had already fell Lbw to warne and Australia had the simple task of cleaning up the tail.
