Australia A & NZ A Tour of India

I would like to see Dirk Nannes in the Australia squad. He looks very good from what I have seen of him at Middlesex.

Strike rate means nothing to me too, in FC cricket, except when I'm watching Virender Sehwag.

The direction that Test cricket is going (and given the quality of the pitches and such), it is going to become inevitable that teams will be scoring much quicker unless they are in trouble. Of course, Uthappa is probably OTT aggressive (although I haven't seen him in FCs).

Hes been solid for Victoria as well but his age is a negative. Not the flashes of stats either, plus when up against Bollinger and Noffke it's really hard to stand out.

I disagree greatly, Abhishek should be playing.

Here is our OD squad.

Australia A One day squad
Cameron White (C): VIC, 25
Adam Voges (VC): WA, 28
George Bailey: TAS, 25
Doug Bollinger: NSW, 27
Peter Forrest: NSW, 22
Ryan Harris: QLD, 28
Phillip Hughes: NSW, 19
Marcus North: WA, 29
Ashley Noffke: QLD, 31
Luke Ronchi: WA, 27
Peter Siddle: VIC, 23
Shaun Tait: SA, 25
Xavier Doherty: TAS, 25
Brett Geeves: TAS, 26

It's great to see Tait back our current bowling lineup really is missing his strike power. Also good to see a specialist spinner being chosen and Doherty thoroughly deserves the call up.

Carn Australia A. I look forward to seeing Luke Ronchi and Adam Voges bat as they may be the likely replacements for Matthew Hayden in the ODI squad. It's interesting to see Adam Voges give the Vice Captaincy role because believe it or not I probably would've give the job to Doug Bollinger as I think that he has more potenitial to be a great leader.

I think they went with Voges because hes been with the A team a few times and has been around the main side a bit.

It will be interesting seeing who opens with Hughes as hes the only specialist opener. I do remember North going up the order to where he batted last season for WA but can't remember if he opened. Katich looks most likely although he really should be kept at 3.

Here's the NZ A team, John Bracewell said this is a team for the future which is sort of true but there is some older guys too. I would of like to of seen Corey Anderson make this tour, he is only 17 but he was one of the better batsmen for the NZ Emerging team about a month ago. Also Ryder and Southee should of gone.

New Zealand A Team: Brent Arnel, Neil Broom, Grant Elliott, Peter Fulton, Mark Gillespie, Iain O'Brien, Martin Guptill, Greg Hay, Nathan McCullum, James Marshall, Michael Mason, Jeetan Patel, Trent Boult, Aaron Redmond, Bradley Scott, Reece Young, BJ Watling

Some of these guys you would not of heard of before are.

Brent Arnel- He is a fast medium bowler, gets abit of movement, around the 130-135 KPH mark.

Neil Broom- He is a middle order batsmen, averages around 38 I think.

Martin Guptill- Only 22 but is already being touted as the next Martn Crowe, poor FC record but good OD record.

Greg Hay- Only 23 and a really good prospect, played only two years of FC cricket and has avearged 55. Scored 4 100's and a few 90 NO's

Nathan McCullum- The older brother of Brendon, he is a offspinner and can also bat pretty well. Gives the ball a pretty good wack.

Trent Boult- Has yet to make his FC debut, but has played alot of games for the NZ Under 19 team. A fast left arm bowler, gets plenty of swing and has already been clocked at over 140KPH.

BJ Watling-Young guy, about 21-22 alot of potential but has yet to really break out in FC cricket.

That's a pretty good NZ A side. Saw a few of them in the AIS tour, Nathan McCullum certainly looks to be another promising all rounder coming out of New Zealand. IIRC Broom also did well in the AIS tour so certainly one to look out for here. Their side looks the most experience of the 3 teams, it's definitely stacked with experienced pace bowlers.
