Australia Tour Of India 2012/13

Pujara you beautyyyyyyyy! 2nd double hundred.

Booing the double hundred? kerplucking dumbass people

----------

Awww shittttt! Two quick wickets but well played Pujara.

They didn't boo the double hundred, because Sachin was already in there. They applauded Pujara when he walked off the ground. Sachin has become an addiction for the Indian public. Wonder how they will react when he is not there anymore on a cricket field.

A crowd that is just completely narrow minded.

The worst part is that Indian/Sachin fans have seen about 4 of his innings. They are just glory hunters who assume he must be great (which he is) by looking at his record. It's about arguing from a point of irrefutability. There isn't much wrong you can say about Sachin's record. Similarly, in tennis they support Roger Federer even though they don't watch any of his matches except the semis and finals of grand-slams. In football they support Real Madrid/Barcelona/Manchester United. In Formula 1, they were all fans of Schumacher. If you're a Ganguly fan, well Sachin's record far outweighs his. Nadal fan? Federer has more grand slams. Tottenham fan? United has won more titles.

I know guys in India who support all 3 of those prestigious Football clubs... :facepalm:lol

----------

I think the problem with Pujara here is he's always looking to pull and hook, it's as if he wants to show the world that he's not "one of them" and so pulls and hooks at every opportunity, needs be a bit more picky for me.

To be fair to Pujara ,he was selective with his hooks and pulls this innings.I thought he brought out the hook shot for the first time when he was nearing 150.
But yeah as you said,he does have a tendency to just show the world he is not afraid of the short ball.

Anyone see the "fan of the day" on Star Cricket? Yeah, that guy who just proudly admitted to cheering on an Indian wicket so he could see "god"...

Call them Dumbest fans of the day and they have a point.

What I think is that, these so called fans of Sachin's are also the one who abuse him when he scores anything short of a hundred. These are the same people who say he never takes India to victory yada yada.

People are really very dumb. Also nothing better to catch some attention on Tv than by saying, they worship the "God"

Suck on that Hyderabad!

----------

Did I just see Snicko on a BCCI broadcast?

43 ball 44 Nice little innings from Dhoni. Seeing the lead is 223, Kohli and Jadeja should continue the attack to give a total 300 runs lead.

Always wondered why he didn't bat the same way across the formats, like a Sehwag or something, well he's finally doing it I suppose...

Smart tactic by India, get out to Maxwell and get him selected in the next test. Just need to gift some wickets to Doherty too.

This is the typical proud Aussie fans response. Don't mean to pick on you midget...this is a more general response

It seems Aussie fans love blaming something other than the players for the problems. It's the selectors, or the batting order, or the rotation policy, or the pitches, or maybe the coaching staff - something other than a lack of talent. Because don't you know Australia would have SMASHED South Africa in the 3rd Test in Perth if they'd only played Siddle and Hilfenhaus? (forget that Starc and Johnson were the 2 best things to come out of that match). Sri Lanka of course were lucky to draw the ODI series because Aussies were resting players (it had nothing to do with the continually excellent bowling of Kulasekara and Malinga). And of course in this match India would be on the ropes in this series if we'd only picked our best squad...

It used to be 'whinging Poms' as the stereotype, but Aussie cricket fans love a good whinge too. The selectors might pick 10 of the 11 guys you had in your XI, but the fact they didn't pick the 11th as well apparently makes the selectors clueless and blind.

So back to this match...I can see Maxwell and Doherty as bad calls. Cowan and Wade (maybe Hughes too given his spin play) as less objectionable selections, but perhaps wrong as well. And of course the continual batting order discussions. But how much difference would that really make? India have scored 74 more runs, and lost 8 less wickets in doing so! This is not a close match that might have been swung with 1 or 2 different players in the 11.

The other thing that critical self-inspection does is that it fails to recognise good performance from the opposition. It was great batting from Vijay and Pujara yesterday, yet the focus here in Aus will no doubt be on the selections or some other distraction. Some credit needs to go to the opposition occasionally...

I was only complaining about O'Keefe not being chosen, used the bashing of the bowlers as an outlet.

We should declare now only one wicket left lets be aggressive :p
