The first half of Dhoni's innings was good, until he was dead shouldering arms on 98, but obviously the umpire felt sorry for him after running himself out for 99 against England. Who would've known he'd actually kick on with it I guess.

Kohli just mimicked Tendulkar, doing nothing, then Dhoni, throwing the bat at everything on a predictable pitch. At least he didn't rely on umpire error though, so some credit there.

I don't understand why are you blaming umpires now? Where were you when Michael Clarke was out for 39 and then went onto make 130? If he would have been given out on 39 than you guys wouldn't even have reach to 300.

A pitch doesn't need to be seaming around to be sporting. Good bounce, turn, and bite is just as good as a pitch that is green and seams all over the place. That is the beauty of cricket-- the different conditions and challenges all over the world. If visiting teams can't adapt and insist on playing the same type of attack they would in Australia here in India, they should not be complaining if they don't get assistance from the pitch.

Besides, if the pitch was so dead how did Australia only manage 380?

Tendulkar's lbw where he buried his bat in behind his pad, and Dhoni's on 98, as well as a few other good shouts would've cost India more than Clarke's dismissal. Look how many guys we clean bowled when the Indians couldn't stick their pad out in time, yet not one LBW as opposed to the umpires gifting four of them to the Indians.

All of it could have been avoided though, if not for a piece of technology being superstitiously denied when playing India.

Rather than getting a result either way, it's gonna be a draw now anyway.

Well we also had close LBW shouts, I am pointing out Clarke's dismissal because it was obvious. Dhoni was clearly not out because of the inside edge and Tendulkar dismissal could have gone either way. I don't know what other LBW shouts you are talking about.

And I don't know how many times I am repeating this that "WE THE FANS ARE NOT AGAINST DRS." If the BCCI is against DRS, we can't do anything about it nor your writing will make BCCI change their mind.

It is definitely too early to call this match a draw.

Would've been pretty hard for Dhoni to inside edge it when he shouldered arms.. you must have missed that one then. There were a few pad/bat shouts that were worth a closer look that I saw other than the two obvious ones.

Good inning by Dhoni and it was also nice to see Kumar chipping in with helpful 38 runs. Good lead of 192 and now It will be important to see how Harbhajan bowls in the second inning.

A wicket is sporting if it can keep atleast one type of bowler in the contest and give him hope that he can pick up wickets. All this, "ball reaching the keeper when a fast bowler bowls at 150kph" thing is pure NONSENSE!!! Spinners have had plenty of encouragement from this wicket. Lyon turned the ball very appreciably. Yet Indian batsmen have played Australia's lone spinner with loads of authority, whereas the same cannot be said of the opposition.

This was not a wicket necessarily for fast bowlers, and yet Australia went in with three quicks and only one frontline spinner. They tried to mimic the tactics of the 2004 team which won primarily with pace bowlers. But you pick teams for conditions, not based on past history and past trends. I am sure had it been England here in place of Australia, the contest would have been entirely different. Panesar and Swann would probably have put us under quite a bit of pressure.

Doesn't matter Clarke and Cowan decisions were not as important as Dhoni or Tendulkar's were, Atleast that's how the mindset of most of the members here.

Anyways, I'll wait for Australian second innings to end before deciding pitch is complete road. If that doesn't happen then we all have to admit India were better team, harsh for others but true.

PS: Pitch don't have to be seamers supportive to help bowlers. Any pitch that ONLY supports batsman is in true dead wicket IMO.

Cowan again looking alright but just can't go on with it. Probably played the spin as well as any of the Aussies bar Clarke.

We need Bailey ASAP. Bird would of been quite useful here. Main problem was that Dhoni kinda batted away the spin we needed to stop the leaks.

Starc doesn't quite help that situation.
