Bangladesh tour of England, May-July 2010

Damn just when we were doing so good, this happens. I hope we get at least 40 overs to bat today and also hope the conditions aren't too damp. I would like to see Junaid get a 100 today.

There are arguably better batsmen than Siddique still to come.

The problem with Bangladesh is that whenever one batsman at the top does reasonably well and sets the platform for others to do well, there is a massive collapse since they start to relax and take it easy. It's very much a mental thing. That's why I would like to see Junaid getting a big score since he's in now rather than hoping for Shakib and others to get big scores.

Batting around one big score is essentially what England did and it was more a special thing than a good thing, because you can't count on your batsman to produce a double every year, much less every match. If Bangladesh set out to replicate that performance, it is unlikely to be competitive, but if they use their starts better, they can put up a good effort with mere 50s and 100s. That said, a century from Siddique would still need to be backed up by at least a string of 50s, if not another century.

If they can at any point look formidable in this tour, it surely has to be through their batting and if there's one way Bangladesh can stick it to the opposition it's surely by taking any opportunity to bat better as a team.

This could still be an innings win. They better enforce the follow on if they can, don't take any chances

80.2 Finn to Mushfiqur Rahim, OUT, 83.2 mph, that's a cracker! Justifies his promotion second ball with a beauty that nips back between bat and pad to take the top of middle stump. Terrific stuff from Finn who has been outstanding

Mushfiqur Rahim b Finn 16 (59b 2x4 0x6) SR: 27.11

Bad light. Here we go again...the players troop off for more bad light as another cloud passes over Lord's, but England at least leave on a high after that wicket from Finn. I'm going to hand back to Sahil for the rest of the afternoon to see if the light improves again.

Why didnt they call bad light 2 balls earlier. They waited for the batsman to get out, then realized it? Or the light changed so much in 1 ball? They should have called light at LEAST 2 overs earlier. We were sitting there going WTF. It was dark as a hole.

its always like that :sarcasm

Jamie Siddons, the Bangladesh coach, was clearly annoyed by the umpire's judgement on the light as the players left the field again after the wicket.

And it happened already happened 3 times this year. And this is our 6th test this year.

Sadly the usual Bangladesh, look good one day then fall apart the next. Might have to catch some highlights to get a look of Finn, looks like he did well.

^ well at least they won the entire day yesterday, usually they are only good for 2-3 session an entire match. I bet Tamim gets a big one in the 2nd innings, he wants to be on that honors board more than anyone else right now
