Cricket in America

Hey hey hey, the MLS isn't that bad. I watch it, even though the team I support is terrible.

Only girls like soccer, and i FINALLY figured out why. Because its freaking simple. Whole point of the sport is to kick the ball into the other team's net, the box or w/e. And it's so obvious that they even call it GOAL. Just in case they didnt know wtf they were suppose to do.

Every sport is simple, if you have a thousand things to before you reach your run/point/goal/touchdown it becomes limited. Soccer(football) is simple but the simplicity turns it into something with infinite complexity. Now lets demolish your debate alright?
American Football: get the ball over a line and then finally get a touchdown
Baseball: Get more runs than the opposition. Hit the ball out of the park you get a home run.
Cricket: My friend told me why he doesn't like cricket and he said "some guy is pelting the ball at you at 100 miles an hour and your there with a peice of wood". Doesn't sound very SMART does it? but anyway. Cricket all you have to do is score more runs than the opposition.
Basketball: Get a ball in a hoop
Australian Football: Get the ball in the middle posts for 6 points.
Tennis: Get more points than your opposition in every game, until you win. Probably the most complicated.

You get it now? Sports are simple. It's the freedom which makes it great.

i always thought Back-Ham would be geh, if it wasnt for Posh

JK, i didnt mean to bring it up, AGAIN.. wait a min when did i bring it up!!

There is that thread!! I was looking for thi!!

Yea but the other thread is for the series, this is just a general discussion of Cricket in america.

I know that..

btw If i were you, i'd drag as much pure non-cricketing Americans with me as i could. This'd be a nice experience for them.

looking as forward to the USA Jamaica match as I am to the NZ one

Thats pretty much all the average American knows about MLS too.

But didn't you know Beckham was going to take football to the yanks and they would adopt it as their sport and him as their saviour.....................? :laugh I don't know if it was ignorance or arrogance on his part, but greater legends than him played in USA before and football never took off. They prefer their own set of sports, baseball, basketball, ice hockey, and the illogically named American football.

And he's hardly committed to his own cause, showing he wants to play proper football by going to Italy on loan.
