Swann= better than god :p Sidebottoms knok was impressive there, to come in and face Malinga, whilst scoring at a good strike rate which stopped them building up pressure was impressive for a 10. We have quality batting especially in depth, we just need to get consistency with our top order

Very close game but I think we just about deserved the win. Broad showed great determination and 'nerves of steel' to win that game, Swann was excellent as was Sidebottom. I hope Notts think of some bowling back up next summer...

Correct. Though there was a tie against South Africa. That said without him in those games we would have been thrashed instead of:

Defeat by 7 runs
Defeat by 3 wickets
Defeat by 7 wickets

7 wicket defeat isn't a thrashing?

Broad and Swann had fantastic games. Both were excellent with bat and ball. Broad showing the future of our no.8 in test matches and Swann perhaps showing his no.8 for the short term in the test series against Sri Lanka. Broad's been really impressive, he's so cool, calm and collected. Yep, Notts have the real bowling talent at the moment. Broad is a Notts legend - Sorry joe:p!

It'd be great to complete a series win in Sri Lanka, a real sign that we can win in a very tough place.

how can he be a Notts legend when he hasn't played for them? Anyway I don't like him anymore. If we're going to play 2 spinners Swann should play but otherwise Monty has to be first choice.

Swann has made the difference to England's since he can get wickets in the middle of the innings.
England have had sides down after good work witht he new ball and then the oppostion rebuild due to now wicket takers in the middle but Swann has been expectional and with the bat his contributions with the bat have been priceless. Certainly one for the test series.

Well done England, on a great turn-around from the performance in the first match. Three down, two to play and we're 2-1 up. Great stuff!

People go on about him being a cert for the test series...obviously without Flintoff we will have a 4 man attack (Unless Rashid is selected) and I think he's done well, but there is a big different between Test and ODI cricket. Do we need two spinners? Because it'd mean picking 2 out of Hoggard, Sidebottom, Anderson, Broad, Tremlett and Harmison.

I was impressed with our fighting today, one thing I've noticed under Moores though is the players coming in all seem to be very strong mentally, Bopara, Broad, etc.

Well SS we need 2 spinners and who looks like the second spinner at the moment? We will have to pick 2 fast bowlers since we need 2 spinners in those conditions as I don't see Rashid playing at the moment looking at how he's gotten on this season averaging 39 with the ball proving he has a lot to learn.

I am surprised that Sri Lanka already has been beaten twice in their home country. They are normally a tough side at home. The big problem for them is that their batting isn't up to their usual standards.
