England in Sri Lanka

England 84-2,Game is disrupted by rain, srilankans must be praying rain goes away unless they will lose a series to england at home for the first time.

Pietersens our weak link, time to drop him. :p Want to see him and Cook do well, their our few centruy makers and both have got loads of potential so it would be nice to see them use it! We still don't look like we have a killer instinct like Australia, at 30-3 they would never have let them get to 200 but hopefully we can win! Lost the toss again too! Broads still getting wickets and it's good to see Jimmy back in them, Sidebottoms brilliant!

I am Impressed by collingwoods captaincy it looks that finally england care about odi cricket.

Wahey we win the series, would still have preffered a series win over India in the tests but I guess a mixture of injuries and playing Chris Tremlett was what cost us there. Glad to see KP get us home, we still showed our English blood towards the end there though haing a mini collapse

Not only have we won a match in Sri Lanka, we've won a series, with a game to spare. We've beaten 2 of the top odi teams in the world in our last 2 series. The balance of the team looks great and we are playing very good cricket. Also, KP's jump when he gets 100 or wins England a match is awesome, he gets well high :p. England FTFW <3.

Not the most entertaining of series' tbh and i'm a little disapointed in that aspect. However, I hope this little series win doesn't detract our attention from the proper business of the Tests in a few weeks.

Congrats to the england team they have done a great job considering srilanka are one of the hardest teams to beat at home.

Well done to England on winning this series and the match
and they beat Sri Lanka so they should be happy

Its been a tough battle and its great to see that England were on the winning side of it.
Hopefully Vaughan can set England's mind to test cricket in December.

Do remember that this England side is under a new coach, I think there has been a good shift by Moores in his time under England control. From the players he picks, not just ability wise but mental strength, to giving county cricket a chance, giving people like Shah a run in the team and being rewarded.

1) If there is a perfect time to have a mini collapse then it is in that situation.

2) Tremlett performed admirably with the ball vs India, what cost us was being outplayed by a better team.

I was impressed with us again, a series win in ODi cricket in Sri Lanka is a sensational effort, and to do it with a game to spare! Sidebottom and Anderson were superb, with combined figures of 20 overs, 6 wickets for 60 they gave us a great platform. Cook and KP batted well too to our challenging if not hard total.

Back to back series wins means we are getting stronger in the ICC table, a win on Saturday and favourable results in India could put us 4th! I have to say Sidebottom has been simply outstanding, he has to be an England regular now, simple as.

Wow, that would be a fairy tale result to go 4th after all Englands ODI misery over the past few years.

England managed to outplay the Sri Lankans today unlike the others which could of gone anyones way.

Sidebottom and Anderson were brilliant to take the first 3 wickets after we lost the toss on a good batting pitch.
Broad bowled well as well. Imagine when Flintoff gets fit we'll have a good alround pace attack.

Swann bowled in condtions which weren't quite as helpful.

Cook batted better but I still question his place in ODI's and whether or not he score quicker when need be.

KP has found his form again in the last match and shows he capable of being more cautious on these slower pitches.

Mustard gets England off to good starts but doesn't hasn't set himself to bat to certain period in the later stages of powerplays but he's proven that he's been capable and his keeping has been very tidy as well.

Shah as proven that he can be good finisher and a good rebuild as well as Bopara.

Paul Collingwood has had a good series as captain but he's been a bit quite on runs in this series but he has bowled well on condtions that would suit his medium pace with his change of pace and that would always be useful in the tests coming up in December. His fielding has been top class as always.

Great effort by our lads, everyone contributed to this series victory. We have a settled team and they are playing some good ODI cricket.

Full credit goes to Moores for turning this around.

Tremlett bowled about 5 balls on the sticks in the whole series, i don't care how good your economy is, he can only get wickets 1 way and theres bowlers who could do much better imo.

Excellent stuff by the boys, especially after that nightmarish start! A historical and well deserved win! It looks like the ODI boys are finally beginning to catch up with the Test team.

His 'one way' proved very effective against batsman prone to short bowling, I don't see your problem, yes he has a long way to go, but he did well vs India.
