England in Sri Lanka

I hope Panesar is just there as back up. I'd rather see Blackwell than Swann to be honest but good luck to him. I'm glad they didn't call up Rashid though, he's nowhere near ready.

About Rashid thats just the ODI squad, I think he could get into the Test squad but I hope they don't play him and just give him some experience around the team

That's an amazingly strong batting line-up. Anderson's the only rabbit really.

Knowing England though they'll line up like this;

Cook
Prior
Bell
Pietersen
Collingwood
Shah
Flintoff
Bopara
Broad
Swann
Anderson

That'll be pretty much what they choose but of course Flintoff will bat above Shah though despite Shah has a hundred recently and Freddie's made nothing. :p.

Yes, he did. Elbow or shoulder surgery I believe, not sure if he's going to be fit for our tour though.

Hope not. With him in they are a world class attack, without him we could have a sniff, a great test either way.

this should be the line up imo, maybe swap Prior and Shah in the batting order though.

1. Bell
2. Wright
3. Prior (wk)
4. Pietersen
5. Collingwood (c)
6. Flintoff
7. Shah
8. Dimi
9. Swann
10. Broad
11. Anderson

I don't think I'd move Bell, he's done so well at 3 I'd leave him there. I'd rather play Cook than Wright tbh. I know Cook had a poor last few games but I don't think Wright playing every game for us is going to be too beneficial.

Blow darts :D

So does everyone seem to think that Monty will be displaced by Swann as the spinner in the ODIs?

Yep i do and tbh Swann is a better one day bowler at the moment and he can bat a bit too.Monty is getting better but needs some more one day experience at domestic level to become world class on both forms.

Phil Mustard has just been called up for the ODI squad in place of Matt Prior.

Doesn't Wright perform much better in first-class batting in the six or seven hole? I heard Hussein/Simmonds talking about it during the world Twenty20...I know wright had a stronger performance THERE batting down the order...obviously a totally different line-up and format, but still...considering the available, I would bat...

Bell
Prior
Pieterson (he really should bat anchor, IMO.)
Collingwood
Flintoff
Wright
Shah
Bopara
Swann
Broad
Anderson

Strong batting squad, but I haven't seen hardly any of Swann...we'll just have to wait and see...

Flintoff is not available.
Neither is Prior.
Wright, in FC cricket, bowling all rounder, in years to come, perfect all rounder.
