I knew this would happen. England were never going to get anywhere near 400 after Pietersen's & Cook's dismissals yesterday which robbed England of such a dominant lead.

The only way I see us getting to 400 is if Prior goes for it or Harmy comes out and bats like he occasionally does. Monty,well. Will be interesting to see who gets the new ball with Sidebum, I'd go for Broad because Harmy could end up anywhere and Broad can usually find a bit of swing, plus it would be a big confidence boost on debut and he has been bowling better than Harmison.

yea I agree he really did nothing to earn a call up for the test series. i would have had Dilshan in the squad instead of him but Samaraweera would be a good choice too as both can bowl a litle bit and help replace the hole left in the part time spinner position by Jayasuriya.

Broad has been warned twice for running on the danger area. Disappointing since he has bowled really well.
The wider of the crease angle will give him little to work with.

Sidebottom got those two crucial wickets including danger man Sangakarra. If England can get Jayawardene early then Sri Lanka will find it an uphill battle to get to England's total.
Of course a key aspect will be how Harmison bowls after his long time out of the game. I hope we see the Harmison who got batsmen hopping in 2004 and not the Harmison who bowled a ball to second slip in the ashes series.

Great day for Prior, 2 catches, 1 of which was fantastic and a brilliant 79.

Tomorrow is a huge day for the match and series. Sidebottom and Prior in partnership with bat and on the field.

England need to break this partnership and get in to the likes of Silva, Mubarak and Prasanna Jayawardene.

England have got a good chance in this game.

If we get early wickets tomorrow the games ours, otherwise we'll really have to battle but because we've got Sanga early I'd give us the edge and if all our bowlers are as economical as they've been today then we'll get the wickets. They have to bat last so intight games like this it always gives you the edge.
